    Default Viruses in files?

Okay I don't know much about programmes etc. But i using a program like Limewire (or whatever), I download an avi or mpeg or whatever, and it tells me theres a corruption in the file, what does that mean? Is the file damaged, or is it possible for working mpegs to contain viruses etc?

I say what I think. If you disagree, then that is up to you.

You more than likely don't have the correct codec installed to play back the file. Most video file's are compressed in either DivX or Xvid format, there are other's, but those two are the most popular.

You can download DivX from here. It's the bottom one thats free. And the Xvid codec from here.

Corruption usually means the file was damaged during download. I got that all the time on 56k. You might need to download it again.

if it's a mpeg or avi or whatever that's about 100kb big, yes it's a virus. I dunno how well it'd be able to execute itself from limewire though.
