Time to pretend again! -- ff8 movie-age

I could've sworn there was a not too horribly archaic post about who could play who in a ff8 movie, but I couldn't see one at first glance. so yey!

Anyways. The obligatory 'omp who would play who?' etc.

I only bring this up, because in the movie we just finished watching in french class, Anne Brochet kept reminding me of Quistis.

My reasoning?

you can google her for images, but she doesn't seem to have light reddish blonde hair except in cyrano, but I did a half arsed job in psp really quickly to share.



Anyone else got people that just strike you as being an excellent actor (or at least a lookalike) for someone in ff8?

Quistis is really hard to cast for... I'd personally say Tina Fey or Cate Blanchett.
But they don't fit either...

I've always thought Nicole Kidman would make a good Quistis:

i would say that Josh Hartnett could play Seifer
Rachel Leigh Cook would be Ellone
maybe Katie Holmes as Rinoa

and if anyone is interested, i have a strategy guide/walkthrough i wrote in like a half hour while i was bored at work one day. only have to use GFs maybe 2 times throughout the entire game the way i play the game. the way i have it set up, ultimecia only hits for like 400 HP everytime, execpt of course for the final form. that's all.

hmmm good thought... this was definately one of the best games in the series.

Squall or Irvine could be Ewan McGreagor or Brad Pitt... either of those guys would be great... I was thinking Natalie Portman as Riona.. but someone a little more playful... Racheal Leigh Cook maybe... Cate Blanchett would be a great Quistus... but I could also see her as the Sorceress... Sean Austin Scott (is that his name? Stiffler?) would play a great Zell... I've always thought Selphie was the hottest girl in the game so you'd need some little sex pot to play her... Kristen Kruek maybe... or there is a porn star I'm crazy about named Autumn Austin... I would post a picture but... well... y'know...

Seifer could be the guy who plays Lucius Malfoy in Harry Potter two... I forget his name but he was also in Event Horizon and the Patriot... this guy is a great villan... he would make a great Artemis Enteri if they ever make a Drizzt film...

Wedge and Biggs make a great comic duo in this movie... find two big money actors willing to do a cameo role... Johnny Deep and Jeff Bridges always wanted to see them together...

Maybe John Malkovich or Jack Nicholson as Laguna... this game was full of possibilites... great story... reminded me of Phantasy Star 3 with some of its themes... and the whole generational thing is great look at Godfather Two

the movie would have to be produced by jerry bruckheimer because it has all the ingredients for a jerry bruckheimer movie: ridiculously large budgeted action that is a visual spectacle with dazzling special effects, an underlying love story, unnecessary destruction of damn near everything on screen, the token hero camera pan-(camera starts near ground level, as hero gets up from downed position, camera rotates around hero in slow motion while the hero has this badass look on his face that something bad is going to happen, and not to him, therefore cue the music, which would be a semi-slow rock beat with a phazer type of effect, then come the heavy distorted guitars and bass, a la nine inch nails or something similar)

don't get me wrong, im a sucker for films produced by jerry bruckheimer and i think he would do awesome on a film like this.

the reason i say jake gyllenhall for squall is that im trying to think of young actors around the ages of the characters. squall is 17. viggo mortensen would not get by playing a 17 year old. ethan hawke is a good choice though if you're going by looks alone.
