Default 2 things navy SEALs are taught....

So a friend of mine sent this to me in my email. I thought I'd share it with you guys...

Two things Navy SEALS are always taught:

    1. Keep your priorities in order

    2. Know when to act without hesitation

A college professor, an avowed atheist and active in the ACLU, was teaching his class. He shocked several of his students when he flatly stated that for once and for all he was going to prove there was no God.

    Addressing the ceiling he shouted:

"GOD, if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you exactly 15 minutes!!!!!"

The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop. Ten minutes went by.

"I'm waiting God, if you're real knock me off this platform!!!!"

Again after 5 minutes, the professor taunted God saying,

"Here I am, God!!! I'm still waiting!!!"

His count down got down to the last couple of minutes when a SEAL, just
released from the Navy after serving in Afghanistan and Iraq and newly
registered in the class, walked up to the Professor. The SEAL hit him full
force in the face, and sent the Professor tumbling from his lofty platform.

The Professor was out cold!! The students were stunned and shocked. They
began to babble in confusion. The SEAL nonchalantly took his seat in the
front row and sat silent. The class looked at him! and fell silent....
waiting. Eventually, the professor came to and was noticeably shaken. He
looked at the SEAL in the front row. When the professor regained his senses and could speak he asked:

"What is the matter with you?! Why did you do that!?"

"God was really busy protecting America's soldiers, who are protecting your right to say stupid stuff like that and act like an idiot!!! So he sent me!!"

    AMEN!

I seem to be missing the point... "Navy Seals have a God-given right to be wantonly violent against people they consider stupid"?

"Keep your priorities in order" and "know when to act without hesitation" are good advice for Special Forces, but that hardly justifies being a moron during a college class.

Actually, I'd be inclined to believe that entire story is a hoax. I don't see how a college professor would make such a transparent mistake. What he proposed would not "prove there is no God". It's stated in the Bible and elsewhere that God doesn't respond to people who try to 'test' his existence in that way. Even "avowed Atheists" know this.

That email looks, to me, like one thing: religious/military propoganda saying that Christians are a superior class of person, and Christians in the military are beyond criticism. I'd take issue with all of those points.

That is the most ridiculous, self-centered thing I've ever read, and I fully agree with Big D.

I agree, it is kind of amusing. Take away the overtones and whatnot, and you've got a classic case of someone getting a blunt, direct message about thinking they know more than they really do

Just for those of you curious about the validity, snopes has another of the many 'atheist professor is shown up by God/Christian/whatever' http://snopes.com/religion/chalk.htm

I think it's a nice story. Of course, it's obviously fabricated and intended as one of those things to make the e-mail rounds, but it's still nice. No need to look too far into it.

Amusing, but flawed. Just like everyone else has said. But, it was kinda funny, and despite my anti-christian (well, anti-bible) stance, I'm quite religious, and the greatest miracles are the ones inspired by divinity, yet carried out by humanity. This'd be right up that ally, if it wasn't bull.

One of those jokes that are really quite amusing if you ignore the propaganda.

Another example of this joke would be:

(SPOILER)If you are in the room with Hitler, Stalin, a rapist, and a gun with only two bullets, what do you do?

    ANSWERShoot the rapist twice

The form I heard was "Shoot the abortionist twice" (pro-life stance, obviously), but I changed it hoping to keep your thread from turning into an abortion debate.
I am alive I will never run away Places inside My heart screams inside with pride Once I cried Now I wipe away the tears Once I died Now I'm alive

    --Alive (Korn)

And we sneak a call And we're like thieves I love the times like these Just don't say goodbye Just won't you please I'm trying to do the right thing

All my life I was in the cold Now I find I feel nothing more Leave me to learn Leave me to hurt Now I'm not so invincible

    --Invincible (Static-X)

Yes because all college professors are godless heathens that need to be punched in the face, and "god" is clearly on the side of the United States.

I agree with Dee and Ashlee, except I didn't find it funny at all. Infact, it seems more like an insult to U.S. Navy SEALS than anything else.
