Default British election (the final furlong)

2 weeks with Labour on 40% and conservative hovering about 35% it looks for the moment Blair will lead us again . But i'd like a quick poll of Eoff users.

    Brief synopsis

    Labour
Gordon Brown apparently now loves Tony Blair again, especialy after he said he'd hand him the PM job in a few years, As usual they promise Better public services with magic money(more tax in real terms). And to rid Britain of all it's problems while being bastions of honour and justice, they mean it this time honest.

    Conservative
previously the tories, as these former right wingers move towards the centre (apparently a vote winner). Promoting public services and lowering tax costs on houses and council tax, Having a go at labour about the fact there are 500,000 missing immigrants who shouldn't be here. They seem hindered by the fact lots of people think michael howard is a vampire.

    Lib dems (shudder)
Yes your best chance for ginger wigs for all are back, and this time........they're exactly the same, high tax for evil rich people, free shoes for old people. More tax for everyone else. Going on about how they didn't support the iraq war(dispite the fact they did) and tony blair will cause armagedon.

    Greens
    Tree huggers

    SNP.
    Jock nutters

    Plaid crymu
    Welsh Nutter.

    BNP
    British Nutters

    Respect
    Saddam Hussians number one fan

    Cornish sepratists
    Bunch of farmer madmen.

Tony Blair pulled a minor miracle out of his backside today when he claimed that he'd confirm the construction of the Metrolink Railway in Manchester - but only if he remained as Prime Minister. Well, duh. That might gain him a couple of hundred votes, because, as you're probably already aware, Mancunians don't really give a sniff about the elections. Then again, neither does the majority of britain.

Those Cornish Separatist guys look quite amusing, so I'll vote for them.

I don't know too much about British politics, though I try to tune in routinely to view Parliament, but I think Blair should go as PM and someone a little more independent of Bush should take power.

Since that wasn't an option, I chose "huh"?

    Take care all.

Without Tony the tiger your country is doomed! DOOMED!!!

I should make an advertisment group like they do for candiates here the U.S. in his honor. (Anyone remember the Swift Vote Veterans?)

I'll call it The Blair Witch Project!

Gordon Brown is the Ace up Labour's sleeve. If the Tories actually threaten to win, Tony'll step down, Gordon will take over and Labour will get an automatic +6% in the polls!

If I were British, I'd vote Labour or Lib Dem. Lib Dem would be an ideal vote, Labour would be a tactical vote (if the Tories actually looked threatening).

Oh! I wanna make a guide too! With pretty colours.

    Labour
Slightly left of centre. Have been in power for last 8 years. Have screwed up immigration and health system badly, but have done a good job economically, except for a tendency for stealth taxes. Seem to hate the middle classes. Obsessed with setting targets. will win again, but who will be PM - Blair or Brown?

    Conservatives
Right of centre. Opposed to Euro and the lax immigration controls currently in place. Also want clean h Have been the opposition party for the past 8 years, but they have failed in elections due to shoddy leadership. Michael Howard doesn't look like bucking the trend, but their policies are just what Britain needs.

    Liberal Democrats
Left of centre. Would accept the Euro and would also tax heavily - this is for their healthcare improvements. Leader seen as a joke by most, especially after his alcoholism problems. Will gain support due to their anti-war with Iraq stance.

The following will do nowhere near as well as the big 3:

    UK Independence Party

Single issue party - they want to pull the UK out of the European Union entirely. Did extremely well in European elections, but I doubt this trend will continue.

    Scottish National Party
Want to pull Scotland out of the UK. I consider this laughable. Scotland is one of the poorest areas of the UK and would collapse without English taxes. I think the Lib Dems will do better in Scotland than them. Socialist agenda.

    Plaid Cymru
Welsh National Party. Unlike the SNP, they are realists in that they know Wales would collapse without England. Also have a Socialist agenda.

    British National Party
Skinhead fascists. Claim to defend British way of life but they regularly beat up ethnic minorities. Want to throw all immigrants out and stop all immigration. Will gain many votes in northern towns like Oldham, Blackburn and Bradford.

    Green Party
Single issue party focusing on the environment. Will not do well.

    Respect - the Unity Coalition
Their leader, George Galloway, is a close friend of Saddam Hussein (No, seriously). They seem to think that their obsession with the war on Iraq will gain them votes. It won't. Extremely socialist, I read their European Elections manifesto and it claims they will get "better Muslim rights". As all religions are equal, I assume this means they want muslims to dominate.

    Veritas
I have no idea what their colour is, so I made it the same as Robert Kilroy-Silk's (the party's leader - ex talkshow host and Labour MP) tan. Claim to promote traditional British values. Right-wing. Anti-immigration.

    Any that I missed?

Official Monster Raving Loony Party. You forgot them.

Apparently they'd like to introduce a 99 pence piece. Which would be quite handy, you have to admit.

Edit: Damn, Skogs beat me to it. Good to see I'm not the only one who noticed them missing though.

Also, instead of joining the Euro, they'd invite all of Europe to join the Pound!

Did anyone see the Dead Ringer's sketch on the night of the election where Tony Blair addresses the nation. It went something like this:

People - of Britian, on this, the election night, I have a very simple message to all of you out there. And that message is this: What do I have to do to lose this election. I mean come on people! Like, we've seen Iraq. I mean, duh!
    (Puts hand to earpiece)
...ITV predicting a record third landslide for Labour...
    (Walks up close to camera)
I know were each and every one of you live!
