I do not think pedophilia can be cured.

I think it's like being gay--you're just born that way, and that's all there is to it. In rare cases, perhaps it starts out as a fetish or something but A) grows stronger or B) grows stronger due to being a victim yourself. (I don't know much about this, I'm feeding off of some of what's already been said.)

I believe pedophiles should be closely monitored. Their residences should be made available to the public. Those living on the same street should be informed personally of the pedophile's presence by police, with a picture and a list of his previous crimes.

I see no point in increasing prison sentences. From what I understand, pedophiles tend to be the ones other inmates like to beat up/kill. If they manage to escape with their life, stepped-up monitoring and caution should suffice.
