Buying FF7 recently I've gotten to Spoiler:
the part where weapon is attacking Midgar


My level is 50 for all character's and my defense is 129- and percentage of defense is 16.

(For Cloud) anyway is that good or should I keep training before I fight him?.

i cant remember what level i was at but just save and try once or twice then if you cant beat him just train some more but i think u can coz i beat ruby and emerald weapon at level 60 so im sure u can beat that weapon at lv50

What you should be concentrating on is mastering magic because physical attacks don`t work! so try and get magic attacks like comet2 and ultima!

I have Comet 2 by the way I killed himeasy on my first go, I'm on disc 3 now training up for the final battle...

I beat the game when I was at level 55, so I'm sure you can beat the Diamond Weapon at level 50

I beat the game at level 44 before. But then, I'd already beaten it atleast 44 times. xD

I think i was at level 30+ when I fought Diamond...he's really easy if you keep up Mighty Guard...let Cloud do whatever limit break he has...and keep attacking...no prob, you're definately safe

dimund weapon can be immune to either attakcs or magic

I spanked him at around the early 40's, so hopefully you should have no problem. Goes without saying that shouldn't use physical attacks either. Just make sure you take him out before the countdown finishes (I hope I'm thinking of the right boss here).

I did kill him I'm now disc 3 now wrapping up unfinished buisness. (getting Knights ofd the round, getting in to Midgar, Getting Clouds Final Weapon and And every one elses etc.)

For being so powerful looking, he really isn't all that hard. I just used summons, limit breaks and comet 2 on him until he was dead.

If I remember correctly I beat him with seriously under powered characters. I think they had around 1000 hp each.

You're right on, just continue to keep your guards up and then attack.

As mosy people have already stated, Diamond weapon is fairly easy, and almost any level would suffice, as long as you have a correct stratagy.

I recently completed FFVII, I played FFVIII,FFIX,FFX,FFX-2,FFVI then FFVII, in that order. I found FFVII to be one of the quickest, easiest Final Fantasy games, as you can uncover all secret/side quests easily, and still finish the game with a low time score.

I defeated Emerald and Ruby weapon at level 60, so I doubt leveling to 99 is worth the time ^_^
