That's called boycotting. You can still boycott something and like it at the same time. I'm just saying that denying that you like something even though you like it is hypocritical. I still stand by what I said about music though. Music should be listened to with an unbiased opinion, and then judge it for what it's worth based on the song solely. Sure, other opinions may come afterwards about the artist or whatever, but the song itself will not change, so why should your opinion about it do? I agree with you on the whale thing though, I'd boycott it, but I'd probably still like it, but probably not because it's dead whales, and they don't smell particular good, and I'm a male so I don't wear perfume.
And, yeah, I mostly agree with you. I still like things that I like, no matter what's behind them. I didn't say anything about forcing myself to not like them, just supporting them. Though it's kind of a moot point here since I don't like Avril's music anyway.
And dead whales do smell pretty good. They use animal fats in all kinds of make ups and crap. And you should consider wearing perfume; you stinky!
I'm probably one of the few here who doesn't really hate or dislike Avril.
Her music isn't that bad, but she's like the lone artist on the net who seems to be bashed upon more than anyone else. You might as well put her with the rap guys, judging from the reviews of her.
I've only seen her a few times on TV, and while that's not enough to judge her...I don't think she was this brat that people claimed to be. But gawd, she is small though. I mean really, Carson Daly looks like Shaq standing next to her.
Naw, Ashlee Simpson gets it way worse than Avril.
People seem to enjoy bashing her, so I say "just let them get on with it".

Maybe I just visit these forums too much, but I've only seen one anti-AS thread, but 10's of anti-AL threads.
I still can't say I hate AL as much as some people. It's hard for me to hate someone I care so little about. But I do remember seeing an Avril concert on TV, she did this one song...had a guitar around her...and never played it. I thought it was just part of her shirt, like some fashion statement...until she strummed it once during another song. So then another song was played, she never touched it. So now I'm thinking "Hey, that's one nice shirt."
There was a time when there were actual TV news reports about how Yahoo's top search was "Stop Ashlee Simpson" and such. Poor girl. xD
I dunno... I don't really see anyone here to actively hates her. You can have a negative opinion about someone or something without that opinion being a pillar of your existance.
To my knowledge, Avril has never been booed by a stadium full of people. Ashlee gets it worse because she's actually screwed up so bad that even her fans saw she was a phoney.
This is only the second Avril thread I've seen here, but my memory is bad, so who knows?
