My friends and I do it often enough, but each of us have our different levels of intensity. I almost always stick to pretty unoffensive insults, but with some of my friends it's sometimes hard to tell if they're actually joking.

I insult my friends. Then tell them it's a joke and we have a a laugh about it. While their guard is down from the laughing I kick them in the throats and steal their wallets.
I once got into a very heated argument with a friend that involved a lot of name-calling and bitching that started as a discussion as to whether All Saints or Snow Patrol made better music. I was batting for All Saints.
Band practice results in much abusive language, but tis all in good humour. Unless someone is out of time.

Yea, me and my friends, we insult each other a lot. LoL, it's fun because we think of the most weirdest things to say. It's all good in the end, because we know that we are just joking around.

I insult almost all of my friends. Some of us insult each other on a very regular basis. Making fun of my friends is something I enjoy, so long as they can take it. I know a lot of my friends take the piss out of me all the time, too. Bastards. I admit I do make it easy for them, though.

I sometimes call my friends pooheads or muppets, but that's all. We don't really insult each other.
