What? You can't get into FF. It isn't a friggin' suit or nothing.

Back in... 1993, my dad got Final Fantasy IV (II) for the SNES. Since I liked Mario, I figured I'd like it (Hey, it was a videogame), so I tried it.

    There ya go.
Boy am I an unfunny ass.

I played IV(II) as soon as it came out because my friend had told me a lot of stuff about it. Been into it ever since.
The itching sensation is a good thing.

I saw the "Two's Company.....Three's a Crowd" ad(which was a picture of a moogle and FFII on one page then on the next page a bunch of the mobs from FFIII) in a Gamepro and rented FFIII b/c of it. I didn't get too far, relishing the experience, before I had to take it back. So, since it was late November/early December, I asked for it for Christmas. 3 days later under the tree appeared a SNES game wrapped up beautifully by my moter. I knew it had to be FFIII b/c I hadn't asked for any other game.
    December 25:

    !@$$^%&^*(^%*^%#%$%$@

I ended up enjoying FF:MQ for what it was. And eventually bought FFIII and FFII. Hooked ever since.

I went to a friends house back in '97; he was playing FFVII on the TV and I was like "cool, whats that?"
That was the beginning, I have FFI - FFX-2 now.

Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. It was so weird and off-beat that even though I couldn't stand the battle areas, I enjoyed it enough to get majorly excited when FFVI (then called FFIII) hit stores. After that I tracked down FFI and FFIV, and even started getting into the whole ROM hacking/translation scene. This was back when the general wisdom was "It's a shame Square would never release these games in America, we better translate and distribute 'em so people can at least play them."

It's quite weird really, my first experience with an FF was VII and I played it for 2 minutes had no idea what was going on. Then when VIII came out I had only read about it in magazines and then when IX came out I was like "OMG I'm such a big FF fan I need to buy this game, I love FFs!" then I bought it and loved it and really got into the series from there.

My older brother was so into Final Fantasy, that everyday I watch him play FF7 and FF8. At first, I was like, 'This is so dull... all the fighting...'. Then, I started to like watching it being played by my bro. Years back, it was only the dialogues I was interested reading. Then, my bro let me play FF8. I liked it, but the story bugs me a little. Then he introduced me to FF7, FF9, FFT, and FFOrigins (I-II), Xenogears and Chrono Cross. There, I became a fan of FF... and SquareSoft!

What happened in my case was I bought a NES at a garage sale for 10 bucks. My folks took me to a pawnshop to get cartridges, since it was nearby. I picked Tetris and then picked up Final Fantasy since the title looked intriguing.

Tried playing that game with no walkthroughs or even the instruction manual the first time. I'd managed to get down to fight Lich, won, and then walked all the way back out of the dungeon cause I didn't know that the teleport pad was there! But I ordered the instuction manual from Nintendo after that, then found that guidebook.

Hadn't played anything past the SNES games yet, but I've tried 1-6 (though 1 is the only one I'd managed to complete; was close in 3j, but the disc I had the game on went bad).

I was watching my friend's father play FFVII. After that, it's been hard to get me away from games.
