It's actually a really fun game. Most people don't want to admit it because they're too bothered by a lack of FMVs and mopey emo boys with funny hair as main characters. It's a much more swords and sorcery style game than most current FF players are into. Also, it's hilarious. I love it.
Yes, it's fun. The combat can be tiresome, but I'd say it's worth playing overall.
And mastering Mime ISN'T tiresome?
Mastering Mime is one of those things you go out of your way to do if you want to complete everything in the game. Meanwhile, every single fight in FFMQ is pretty dull.

MQ is actually an okay game, the only thing that makes it look bad is that it was given the title "final fantasy"
I like its rather interesting system, on screen monsters, selectable tools...
its kinda like Zelda meets FF, though its plotline is rather flat.
