Mos Def - War
I'm quite impressed by the diversity of Mos Def's production and the depth of his lyrical content. Will definitely be returning to these albums quite often.

Dead Prez - Animal in Man
Superb hip-hop retelling of Animal Farm. After two listens to Lets Get Free I can tell I'm going to be returning to it quite often.
Boogie Down Productions - Part Time Suckers
Sparse but effective Golden Age hip-hop. This album is cited alongside It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back as one of the first truly socially conscious hip-hop albums and I can see why.
Bjornstad & Darling's The River VI from the 1997 album "The River".
This is an improvised album between two very talented individuals that is intimate, dark, emotionally intriguing, and refined in its ability to convey a deep sense of water and fluidity. The real beauty of the album lies in Darling's evocative use of his cello.

Public Enemy - Fight the Power
Fear of a Black Planet deserves every bit of its reputation; an immaculately produced hip-hop album with layers upon layers of sonic depth. The only sonically comparable album I'm aware of from the same period is Paul's Boutique; and needless to say, the lyrics are superb (although I could've done without the homophobia on "Meet the G That Killed Me" but hey, no album is 100% perfect). I don't know why it took me so long to comprehend this album fully.
The Alchemist ft Prodigy, Nina Sky & Illa Gee - Hold You Down
Mt Eden Dubstep - Sierra Leone
Mistle Thrush - Agus Amarach EP (1995)

Nas - It Ain't Hard to Tell - ILLmatic

Daft Punk - Discovery
"Excuse me Miss, do you like pineapple?"
Natural Born Killer by Avenged Sevenfold.
Nightmare is an AMAZING album, every single song is fantastic imo.
Mos Def - Umi Says
Black on Both Sides has quickly become one of my favourite albums ever.
Geomatic's Sacrifice from their album 64 Light Years Away
