Atheist - And the Psychic Saw
To be honest, this band is one of the few things that currently makes me proud of the town where I live right now. Technical death metal at its finest; I just wish their albums were longer.

Liquid Tension Experiment and Gary Moore have made up my playlist this evening.
EDIT: *bump*
No idea why this thread was closed (there is absolutely no reason to close this kind of thread) and can't see a new one upon a quick search for "listening" so I've re-opened it. Longest thread in EoFF forever!

You know, really long threads don't load for some people. I've never figured out why but I've heard it from several different people.

Thank gods for ClickRepair. For some reason the record got slightly damaged in transit but after applying ClickRepair to my rip you can barely tell; I've only noticed one brief part in all 30 minutes I've listened to that sounds even remotely scratched. This is an utterly eerie piece, and it's arguably even more so in its stripped-down "de-mix". I think the A-side is overall more interesting to listen to though.
Have been bouncing back and forth between Jabberloop - Red Bath and Sleep Walker - Into the Sun, which I am listening to now, over the past couple of days. Trying to decide which one is the track to end all tracks, but it is a difficult decision to make. Love both of them at any rate.
Both cases of me having them for ages but generally skipping over them because the intro never really grabbed me, but they both ended up playing through when I was busy doing other things and found myself jamming out to them so bad and wondering why it had taken me this long to get into them. Love finding songs that way.

This band is pretty great, but nearly all their recordings are clipped so much it's almost painful to listen to the original releases (although the new album isn't as bad). Luckily an Audacity filter called Clip Fix exists. This latest album is years beyond anything they'd released previously; I've had it for maybe a month and have already listened to it like thirty times. Just two tracks totalling thirty-two minutes, but they're both gold.
[16:37:31] <@Rantzien> ... Jeff Bridges recorded an album?
[16:37:51] <Phil|Mobile> He did.
[16:38:03] <@Rantzien> That came out of left field.
[16:40:25] <@Rantzien> Well, it's not sounding terrible so far...
[16:41:01] <@Rantzien> I just never would have thought that one day I'd be listening to The Dude singing and playing country in earnest.
[16:42:03] <@Rantzien> That Kevin Flynn would be singing "Let Me Show You What a Little Bit of Love Can Do" in my headphones.
