Metallica - [Death Magnetic #07] The Unforgiven III [7:46]
Out of curiosity I gave the CD mix a listen on YouTube. I had to turn it off after about ten seconds. Thank god for the Guitar Hero III version.

Picked up a copy of the new Linkin Park album "Living Things" and am currently having my first listen through it...
Musically it's reminding me strongly of Hybrid Theory and Meteora days which is a massively good thing, Hybrid Theory even 12 years on is an amazing piece of work! The dance beats flowing in from Mr Hann are heavier, much more A Thousand Suns than Hybrid Theory but that's ok because the guitar work is cascading in crashing waves of raw power on some of the shoutier songs. Shouty, yes that's a word you could use to describe some of the songs... In fact it's a very welcome sound to hear Chester Bennington screaming like he's going to smurfing rip your mother smurfing face off with nothing but his vocal chords!
There's some songs where he's on par with Faint for the screams if not more so "Victimized" for example opens with a screaming chorus from Chester with a drum beat what could literally blow your mind (and I mean Rob Bourdon smashing trout outta that drum kit not some sampled beats) A single verse delivered at full spread from Shinoda in the middle before the chorus plays out in what could be the shortest song I've heard them perform ever at under 2 minutes.
I know a lot of people have felt recently that Linkin Park have forgotten about the fans and their albums haven't been up to the par they started on. If I was a former fan who'd become disenchanted with the band I'm honest when I say, give this a damn good listen to because it seriously seems to be checking some of the boxes Linkin Park haven't for the fans.
Outside of listening to the rock music I've not gotten round to I've actually had a really random desire to listen to a crap load of country it's disturbing almost but I'm finding myself listening to Jace Everett, Garth Brooks, Johnny Cash, Carrie Underwood, Leanne Rhymes, Willie Nelson to name but a few![]()
