Devin Townsend Project - [Stuff That Was Stuff Before It Was Finished Stuff #05] Numbered (demo) [4:38]
Can't beat the version with Anneke on vocals, but still an interesting listen. Nearly everything Devin touches is worth listening to.

Mael Mordha - Cluain Tarbh
Vikings have their own genre of metal... so do the Celts and they're far more badass!
Also, it has tin whistles and an epic intro!

Kendrick Lamar - Swimming Pools (Drank)
it's been on repeat for a while. The production plus his voice is hypnotizing.
I missed this earlier but recently I was turned towards Dopesmoker on the grounds that it was epic. I listened to 30 minutes of it and was supremely disappointed at its plodding repetition. Should I have waited it out?
Grizzly Bear - Veckatimest. Such a weird smurfing album but there are some tracks I adore. Everyone owes it to themselves to watch the video for Two Weeks.
edit: Redpill - been hearing a lot of hype about Kendrick Lamar. Is it must-listen? I've been a little burned out on hip hop lately aside from some of Lupe's older stuff. I could use a fresh face in my collection.
I dunno, you sort of have to be in the right frame of mind for it. If you're not, you're not, but the point is to create a sort of almost manic trance through repetition. It's quite likely that many people will need chemical aids to appreciate it fully
Richard Gibbs - [Battlestar Galactica 2003 #25] Good Night [2:43]
One of the only recent Rappers I enjoy.
Ain't Got No Watch - YouTube
Hell, one of the only ones for that matter.![]()
brian eno - ambient 1: music for airports
I don't know what I think of Kendrick overall, really. I listen to some of his songs and I'm like "damn, trout is tight" and some of the other songs I'm like "meh". Give "Swimming Pools (Drank)" and "Cut You Off (To Grow Closer)" a listen. Those are my two favorites from what I've heard.Originally Posted by Hsu
If you want a fresh face, I would really recommend Hopsin if you haven't listened to him at all. Unlike Kendrick, almost all of his songs impress me:
Hopsin - Ill Mind Of Hopsin 4 - YouTube
Hopsin - ILL MIND OF HOPSIN 5 - YouTube
Also, Jay Electronica if you haven't bumped him yet:
Jay Electronica - Exhibit C (Prod. Just Blaze) (CDQ) - YouTube
I can recommend some more if you like either of the above.
As for the thread topic,
Avicii - Sunshine
trout has been stuck in my head for a while so I just gave in and played it at full blast through my headphones.
The Brink of Time Track 5 - Chrono Corridor - YouTube
I love the Chrono Trigger arranged album. I always wondered why there was a hearty delicious breakfast on the cover of the album, though.
im all into k-pop now..
... and becaus of that my sis sometimes talks about (western) artists i have never heard of...
Breaking Atoms by Main Source is the album playing at the minute - but I keep going back to repeat AtomMain Source - "Atom" - YouTube over and over and over.
