Why does Cid Highwind use a spear?

Kain Highwind from FF4 uses a spear so that must be Cids ancestor or something.

Ancestry has nothing to do with it as each FF story takes place in an entirely different world. The artist apparently didn't think about a real reason for the spear besides it being a tribute to Kain Highwind. The whole KH-CH thing is just an easter egg.

I like the thought of him practicing with the spear to stab a flagpole in the moon or something.
I also like Jellisaurus's idea of him pretending to be a helicoptor.

i think youll find not all games take place in diffrent worlds theres two that come to mind such as (X and X-2) and (TACTICS and XII) jus thought id enlighten you
