I dont know why it took me me this long to decide to get FFXI but anyways I wanted to know what the average registration prices are to play the game. I live in the US. I would also like it if people would share there thoughts about the game with me. Hopefully I will get it soon.
I pay about $20 cdn per month, but I have a whack of characters. (now 2 on Asura and 4 on Alexander)
It's about 13 dollars per month, I think.

12.95 for your first FFXI Content ID, and an additional $1 a month if you make any additional characters.
The game is very..... time consuming and addictive (I've been playing it almost non-stop for 1 1/2 years now.)

nope 12.95 a mo. +1 1USD for each additional character, you use a credit/debit card to pay, which if you think about it isnt that much, 144USD a year if you have 1 char, not bad

(bangs head on monitor) why must some one ask this every week READ THE DAM INSTRUCTIONS im also tired of ppl complaining that it costs money monthly if we didnt have to pay monthly the game would be extreamly glitchy, the graphics would be [img]/xxx.gif[/img][img]/xxx.gif[/img][img]/xxx.gif[/img][img]/xxx.gif[/img], we might not even have sound, and the good ppl at SE desirve some money for all the work that goes into this
That happens on EVERY online game. It sucks, even if the forum made a sticky about it not being free people would still ask. Anyways after 2 months of giving up on getting ff11 because of sucky pc issues, I just remembered I could play it at my dad's house. So after almost 3 months of waiting I am finnaly getting ff11.. Nevermind from what I've heard most of the guys are on midguard or sometin like that, when I get it I'll go there.

Well just remember, you can't choose which server you land on. The only way to effectively "choose" your server is to keep creating and deleting your character until you finally land on the one you want. Considering the general lack of players on Ramuh I'm considering joining the dark si... err... Midgarsormir. Maybe as a Monk this time
