OmiGosh, wtF new town!??!
Well the main point of this thread is to discuss what you do when you discover new towns in an RPG game. What do you normally do first? Do you explore? Look for secrets? Go shopping? Or something else? I personally like to explore first and talk with everybody that I can and then look around for hidden items(We know that there are always those wonderful hidden items!) and finally I'll continue on through the games story, until the next town I encounter!

Open a package which destroys the town and it's people.
I love towns. Talk to everyone, look at the shops, see if there's anything else around..that's it really. ^_^

Getting to a new town is definitely one of the things that rejuvenates my interest when playing an RPG. I go shopping first, then go for a nice long stroll.

Systematically disect the town. Basically start at the entrance and explore every possible area going in the buildings and shops as they come along, and talking to the people as we meet. Unless they look inportant, then I avoid them until everything else is explored.
