Oh this is rediculous... Wait 'til the movie comes out and you hear it with your own ears, then complain. I seriously don't care who makes the voice for what, as long as it SOUNDS decent. Even if the voice acting isn't all that and I'm still gonna love the movie for who it's about and the story... You people sound like movie critics.. bad ones. WAIT AND WATCH THE MOVIE FIRST! THEN YOU MAY COMPLAIN TO YOUR little HEARTS CONTENT!!!..

Hey . . . check this. I have an idea in my head about what everybody at EoFF sounds like in person. If I met you in person, would you think it fair that I disliked you because you didn't match up to the image I'd constructed? I "know" what you sound like. So if I actually heard what you really sound like, would it make it impossible to take you seriously from that point on?

Also, when I haven't seen my cousin for awhile, I imagine her voice. When I actually talk to her, I'm like, "Is that her voice? That's not the voice that was in my head." Should my image of her be destroyed because I remember what she sounded like during our childhood, even though she doesn't sound like anymore?

    Jack: How do you know?

Will: It's more of a feeling really.

Jack: Well, that's not scientific. Feeling isn't knowing. Feeling is believing. If you believe it, you can't know because there's no knowing what you believe. Then again, no one should believe what they know either. Once you know anything that anything becomes unbelievable if only by virtue of the fact you now... know it. You know?

    Will: No.

If Demolition Man were remade today

Huxley: What's wrong? You broke contact.
Spartan: Contact? I didn't even touch you.
Huxley: Don't you want to make love?
Spartan: Is that what you call this? Why don't we just do it the old-fashioned way?
    Huxley: NO!
    Spartan: Whoa! Okay, calm down.
Huxley: Don't tell me to calm down!
Spartan: What's gotten into you? 'Cause it sure as hell wasn't me.
Huxley: Physical relations in the way of intercourse are no longer acceptable John Spartan.
Spartan: What? Why the hell not?
Huxley: It's the law, John. And for your information, the very idea that you suggested it makes me feel personally violated.
Spartan: Wait a minute... violated? Huxley what the hell are you accusing me of here?
Huxley: You need to leave, John.
    Spartan: But Huxley.
    Huxley: Get out!
Moments later Spartan is arrested for "violating" Huxley.

By the way, that's called satire. Get over it.

Heck, if the story is good but the voice acting is bad I'll happily try and find a Japanese version with subtitles.
So the Japanese voices are automatically exactly what you always thought they were in the game? Why are people like this with American voices? I know dang well a Japanese Barret isn't going to sound like Mr T. And as cliche as that is, it's exactly what he SHOULD sound like, because that's the cliche he was fashioned after. Sorry to target you specifically, Laguna, no offense intended. I just think people are being blindly biased towards Japanese voice actors and I don't get it.

If they pull the role off well, I don't care if it's not exactly what I expected. You're right. It's impossible to please everyone. So there's gotta be a lee-way (gray area). And for the record, granted I precieved Sephiroth's character as more badass less female. But he was completely fashioned as a bishounen. Pretty boy. Metro-sexual. Who better to play a guy like that than someone from a girly boy-band? Seriously. Granted he might be better off playing Kuja or whatever. But still... actually I think I'm going insane ^_^ Sorry, I'm just tired. Don't put too much water in what I'm saying.

EDIT: Excellent analogy Mercy. Ten points to that one XD Kudos!

If Barret's voice sounds anything like Mr T, that would be the most hilarious thing. I wuoldn't be able to take him seriously.

    Mr. T? No!

I never imagined Mr. T's voice when I read what Barret said. Honestly, I've only seen Mr. T on TV and I've never even heard him swear. The closest matches that I could find to Barret are "Tigatron" from Beast Wars Transformers (who may also be good for Nanaki) or Wesley Snipes.

I think that David Kaye would make an awesome Sephiroth. David Kaye is the name of the voice actor behind Sesshomaru, Inuyasha's brother and nemesis. If you've never heard of Inuyasha than that could be because one of three things: you don't have cable or you don't get "Adult Swim" which could actually be watched by a five year old or you may not be a fan of anime.

We've already decided who we'd WANT for the voices in another thread, so I'll stop talking about that. I'll watch, enjoy, and purchase Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children as long as the voice actors don't sound like idiots.
There were points in KH when the actors did horrendous voice acting. Like Haley Joel Osmond when he first met that guy in the cloak. He said, "Where did YOU come from?" placing undue emphasis on "you." They could've edited the scene so that he asked that question the second he heard the guy's voice, so it wouldn't have sounded so stupid. Otherwise, they really needed to have acting coaches in there.
This was a really bad call for both Disney and Square. Not controlling the takes, not hiring a vocal coach. Billy Zane did a pretty good job, but even he screwed up a couple times. About the only guy who did a GOOD job in the game was Steve Burton playing Cloud . . . and I have no idea who the hell HE is.
Hiring unknowns to the voice acting is a surefire way to earn the respect of the common fan. "Unknowns" are the voice-actors of anime. Since they've never been physically on TV or in the movies (few exceptions I know of are Phil Lamarr, Jackie Chan, Danny Cooksey, and Jason Marsden) they're basically unknown to the average movie-going American.

Hey I'm not saying I want him to sound like Mr T either. I didn't picture it in my head. But that is who he was fashioned after ^_^; But... lol @ Gwel... yeah... too funny XD

EDIT: I agree. Disney's choice in voice actors wasn't really perfect. I didn't really get into Tidus, Wakka, or Selphie at the beginning.

The only voice actor from anime I've ever seen is the dude that played in the Guyver live action movie. And I think it kicks ass they chose an anime voice actor to play a live role. I recognized his voice instantly but had no idea who the guy was ^_^'

I thought the voice actors for Selphie and Tidus did better than Wakka. Actually, I just didn't like the way he said, "Heeeey. What's HOPpening . . . man . . ." He just didn't sound like he was trying. By the way, Wakka was played by Dee Bradly Baker. If you've ever watched the Teen Titans, you'd recognize him as the guy who's always doing the voices of monsters. In other words, he's good at grunting and going, "Orarrrgh!" I liked how he did when he said, "Oh man, that really hurt."

Seriously, who cares who the hell the voice actor is as long as they play their part well? If you didn't know it was them, would you still think it was horrible? I doubt it. I really am not understanding all the uproar that Lance Bass caused. He had what, three frickin` lines, and they were all sort of mumbled, and incomprehensible. Just because he was or is, in a boy band doesn't make him some sort of demon (technically). Ugh. It's not a big deal. >=O!

I apologize. But I'm fed up with this crap. xD Anyways, no I don't think any of the voice actors have been announced. I doubt they will be for awhile, either. So I'll just sit back, and wait for the news to slowly pour in.

    Default english voice actors.. ekk.

I agree with kikimm.. as long as they do it right I dont really care who it is. Knowing how much this means to a ton of fans, I'm pretty sure that Square Enix won't screw it up, right?

I'm curious to know if they are going to have English voice actors at all or if they are just going to subtitle it. Personally, I'd like to see English voice actors just because I got used to it with FFX, but I'd be okay with subtitles too. Has Square actually said whether or not they are going to translate the voices?

I hope they do a better job than the narration they had on that one trailer.
