ME > Everyone else.
But yes its better. Most of the time.
hip hop = musical genre
rap = bunch of neanderthals with microphones

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion,
I watched seabeams glittering at Tanhauser Gate.
All these moments will be lost, like tears in rain.
Time to die.
yer rap is not really my thing but saying there just a bunch of 'neanderthals with microphones' is just wrong.
DNB ( drum and bass ) which none of you would know of is mainly people with microphones and its great.
i'm with Cuchulainn on this one...other peeps like dead prez, non phixion, and k-os can really rock a mic...crap you see on TV is just commericial, they'll be gone in a yearOriginally Posted by Cuchulainn
but i listen MORE to rock music/alternative/indie...that's just my preference (radiohead, interpol, cardigans, bright eyes, coldplay, weezer, yeah yeah yeahs, le tigre, m83) and more and more
genre's can't be superior to each other (technically)...rock and hip hop both have their history...i find the history of hip hop more interesting, guys like kool herk, jazzy jeff, pete rock, cl smooth....very cool people to learn about

Anyways, I'd have to say that I disagree.I used to almost sort of not really like it, and I used to be really open-minded when it came to music, but over the past couple years my tastes have narrowed, and it's only rock now. And I'd like to keep it that way. The way it sounds is overall much more pleasing to my ears, as are the lyrics, and the actual people in the bands themselves.
Go rock.

Led Zeppelin > all other real rockbands > hiphop > nu-rock like Maroon 5, Green Day etc > mass-hip-hop & rap.
I prefer a much rougher style, but when it comes to rock, Led Zeppelin is unbeatable. And that's it.
I'm listening to...
Fevered lovers and austere thinkers
Love equally, in their ripe season
Cats powerful and gentle, pride of the house
Like them they feel the cold, like them are sedentary
- Charles Baudelaire
Well this thread is going to be Locked now.
As a matter of fact, I didnt get the sign wrong
Hip Hop >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Rock
...By definition of it being Drum and Bass, shouldn't it mainly be you know, Drums and Bass Guitars rather than vocally heavy?Originally Posted by gibbi8
DNB isnt really Bass guitars at all, the music is definatly less appreciated than other Genres. But this thread is old, so Ive changed my style and I prefer Grime music now.
anywayz DNB = Drum and Bass, but the bass dosent mean guitars
wtf? really hip hop is just asnnoying rhymes about cars, women drugs, jewelry and other random crap. the only hip hop artist i like is eminem.
hip hop is responsible for charvas/chavs!
LET THE HAMMER FALL
I'm actually going to agree with you there.Originally Posted by gibbi8
But I don't even have an opinion when it comes this stuff. A year or 2 ago I would've said "Hip Hop sucks" but now I just listen to whatever I think sounds good, although that is mostly rock I guess.
Can't put it any better than that.Originally Posted by Pure Strife
I think a majority of things would own hip hop, but that's just me. Rock is my favourite genre.
Then what does it mean? Is it music consisting of people playing the Double Bass?Originally Posted by gibbi8
