And I voted thus:
Ninja (FFI). Josef's not really all that impressive. I'll take the Sasuke-wielding Ninja.
Ninja (FFIII). Probably the most powerful character in the old-school division. Ragnarok in one hand, Masamune in the other. Need I say more? I will. Also has a very powerful version of Throw.
Black Wizard (FFI). Tough call. But I'll go with the offensive magic.
Knight (FFI). The original sword-guy.
Sage (FFIII). The ultimate magical powerhouse. Has all summons and all magic.
Summoner (FFIII). Tough call. I would have taken the DoS Red Wizard, thanks to Lightbringer, but that doesn't strike me as very old-school. The real RW falls short.
Lionheart (FFII). The only battle where I actually had to look beyond battle utility. Lionheart's just, well, cooler than Maria. By a lot.
Frionel (FFII). My Frionel is powered up excessively. Gordon is....the FFII equivalent of Edward/Gilbert (ouch). This qualifies as a rout.
For obvious reasons, with the old-school games, character development isn't a high priority.
