As the battle rages on, here is some data on our finalists:
Last year Rydia went to the Sweet 16 to be defeated by Locke, the eventual runner up to Cloud.
Vincent made it a round further, only to lose to Auron, the very person he beat to make it into the finals.
I ranked all characters from last year based on a stat I call 'Q', which involves total votes, seed, distance gone, and strength of victory. Rydia's Q from last year was 63.9, placing her rank 10th (3rd in her division). Vincent had a Q of 78.9, which was good for 7th overall (2nd in his division). For a comparison, the character with the highest Q was tournament champion Cloud with 146, and the lowest was Josef with 5.6.
