What do you mean my buddy list and alerts aren't available!?
Is anyone having this problem with AIM, where you're disconnected every
few minutes and sometimes when you try to connect it gets hung up on
Starting Services, then it doesn't load your buddy list when you do sign on?
I've heard that it's happening to a lot of people but I can't find any
information on it. I heard from someone that it's a virus, and I'm usually
on top of this sort of stuff, but this has been going on for a few days and
I can't find anything about it on google. Anyone else?

Happens all the time. I doubt it's a virus, just aim being its crappy self.
I don't use AIM...
GAIM and Trillian work so much better.
Yeah, I had my doubts when I heard the virus comment, but it's been
going on for quite some time, haha. I just got Trillian again. I had it before
but went back to AIM (with addon AIM+) because Trillian was just too
buggy. The new version looks promising though.

Get used to it. That's AIM's server. Has nothing to do with your connection. If you like, try an older version of AIM or an AIM friendly program that doesn't store lists and alerts on the server. The old AIM used to store everything on your computer. It's a pain in the @$$ because when it does that, it looks like you're offline to everyone else >_>
I've never seen such a thing in the three years I've used AIM, on dialup none the less. o__O

Do you ever update your AIM?
I was using a real old version because the new ones suck and only the
older ones work with AIM+. Now I'm using Trillian though and it hasn't
given me any trouble.

Yeah, trillian stores it's buddy lists and alerts itself. Not on AIM's server. So it can't lose them ^_^ I just hate how it's not nearly as customizable as AIM.... I like background colors u_u It only highlights text with a color.
