I made this thread a year or so ago, and it received a good response, so...
When people swear, they sometimes apologise and then replace the swear word with something similar and less offensive. For example, instead of saying 'S**t', you'd say 'Sugar'. Instead of saying 'Bastard', you'd say 'Barstool' or 'Basket'.
Do any of you do this? If so, what do you say in place of the swear word?

I say 'flip' instead of f**k
But it gets confusing calling people baskets. And telling people to eat my sugar isn't very offensive at all.

at work i say stuff like poo and sugar and heck. just because i'll loose my job if i swear.

I say "Oh, Snap" or "shoot" instead of "Oh, S**T".
I say dang instead of damn most of the time.
