Though the last one is the number 1 reason, I believe.
    I couldn't agree more.

Someone mentioned that the story was too dragged out. I thought they executed it perfectly, leading you through all Wakka's and the Maesters' ranting on about the teachings and atonement, only to find out that their religion was a big sham, and in fact just a way of letting Sin repeat itself.

Fabulous game, from every angle. Gameplay was great, and I personally loved the battle system. Yeah it was easy, but if you want a challenge, you just go to the battle arena.

Story was great, characters were great, battle system was great, music was great, character development was great.......blah, blah...

FFX-2 however stunk to the highest degree. :shoot:

The only part that I think stunk was when Tidus had to be sent by Yuna.

I agree, I've played nearly all of the FF's and this one comes close to being my favourite. I loved the story, the music, the characters were so unique, the graphics, the ending (even if it was sad), the game in general. The only thing that I disliked on the game was the sphere-grid, because I prefer the FFVII way of levelling up. Other than that I completely loved the game, personally I think it is one of the best FF's ever.

I agree here, too. I got as far as the concert on the thunder plains and just thought, "smurf this." And gave up the game. It is now gathering dust in my closet, I would sell it, but one day I plan on seeing how bad the rest of the game is. I don't really think a sequel to the game was really required, and if they had to go ahead and make another one, they could of atleast done a better job of it. I could of done better myself.

X-2 could have been tolerable as a stand-alone. But as an incredibly anticipated sequel to one of the greatest games ever made, it simply did not come anywhere near filling the shoes of X or any of the previous ff's.
Organized people are just to lazy to look for things.

Well, I Loved FFX is the one that i like the most, after that VII, the story was so great, all the fear about Sin, the Teachings, the maesters, all of them against our group, i just love that game, also, great battle sistem, FFX-2 I liked it too! I mean it's not one of my favorites but i liked it, the story was actually pretty simple, but i don't think it was a mistake.

hmmm strange ffx was one of my favourite and i thought the battles were hard, one of the hardes in fact. i thought 7, 8 and 9 had really easy battles. FFX actually had to make me think instead of just hack and slash with the occasional magic/summon. i especially loved fighting the dark aeons. i loved the plot, and yes it was linear, but so was every other ff game its just that they made you think it wasnt. they always gave you choices for answering question etc but they never really had any direct affect towards the game, instead minor ones such as being able to decide who you were going to date in the gold saucer (ff7). that might be different in games prior to ff7, i dont know, although i have finished ff5 and 6.

i thought the story was one of the most complex and interesting after ff7.

I do admit, the battle system was a bit too...well basic, It just meant remembering what character to use for what enemy, and then using that over and over.

I greatly enjoyed FFX. The world was original and well-developed; so were plenty of the characters. The battle system had some creative innovations. The addition of voice actors was a bold move, too. Most of the cast did a great job, in my opinion. In short, FFX retained the series' renowned quality, but also tried plenty of new ideas. If anything is going to kill the FF series, it's a lack of creativity. In spite of the adverse reaction from old-school fans who can't stand change, they went ahead with tweaks and alterations, instead of just recycling the old formula.

As for X-2... I felt it was a fine game. If people were expecting another 90-hour epic RPG with a cast of a dozen new playable characters, then I'd say they were asking to be disappointed. It was made clear that the game was going to be an action RPG and a follow-up story to FFX - not a totally new and just-as-huge adventure. It's more of a continuation of Yuna's personal story and journey. Accordingly, it doesn't follow the traditional RPG format. It's more like a series of extra chapters to FFX. X-2 provided a glimpse at Spira in the post-Sin era, and a welcome revisit to characters and places from the original game. It was interesting to see just how the people and cultures had changed. Not to mention the added details about the Zanarkand-Bevelle war, and about the workings of spirit energy and the like.
When you know that a game is going to continue a story that already exists, you should also know that it's never going to feel as new and fresh as the story it continues.

...Having said all of that, I do understand why some people don't like FFX or X-2.

X-2 also got me started on the regular path of FF games......(VI,VII, ETC.) since I played only FFTA, and FFCC only so thats why I got FFX and I loved it so I told my friends and persuaded them into buying it.....so I love FFX and I definitely didnt think it blew.......
since then....those 1000 words have never been spoken.......

FFX was and is FANTASTIC who care's about graphic's the story was fantastic I'm not guna say there were never time's when I thought "this coulda been better" because I did but not as much as I did playin the other FF game's like FFVII in shinra mansion and drivin around the wolrd map in a little red buggy thing was just plain boring and FFVIII the fight's were dull but the story was good all game's have that thing u dont like about them but u ignore um because overall u know that the game more then make's up for it in other place's (in FFX I found the trials to get the aeon's just plain dull) there r few game's that "suck" as sum people put it and many people refuse to play game's that require sum kind of emotion to enjoy FFX was a great game with few fault's in my oppinion this was the best they have ever produced.
