I've met a lot of really stupid people in the game, but not too many flat out jerks.

When I first started on Asura, I remember random people asking me if I was new and giving me tips and gil/equipment. The number of really helpful, friendly people I've met in the game far outnumbers the number of jerks I've met.

Just a few days ago I was in leveling in La Theine, and was about to die when a white mage got off her chocobo and helped me. That was nice.

Also, if you really want people to take you seriously and help you, try actually spelling out "anyone" rather than saying "ne1" I'm sure you'll get a lot more responses.
