The AT-TE came long before the AT-AT. The AT-TE was used during the Clone Wars, while the AT-AT was not used until well after the Rebellion started.
Threepio isn't exactly what Owen wanted, but he was close. What was Uncle Owen looking for, and what was Threepio well versed in?

well there is luke, obi wan and vader.
those are the obvious ones.
han solo used on for like a split second in episode 5 or 6....... to cut luke free from something or other? or was it the trash crusher thing?
anyway....... do i remember seeing an ewok with one? no don't think so
so i'll take a guess at 4 including han solo's use of one to cut luke free.

4 is correct.
However Han uses the Sabre to cut open the Tonton to keep Luke warm. Just so you know.
