Giving BS stories to get lots of money through eBay is a bad idea. 90% of the time, the winning bid will be a joke. So the guy doesn't pay, and your left with an enormous eBay fee. That's what happened to the guy with the Runaway Bride Toast.

I know of a guy who farted into a bag and succesfully sold it on ebay.
There was also this woman who found her grilled cheese sandwich had a picture of the virgin mary grilled on it which sold for lots of money.

The best one is a scam I wish I had gotten in on. On eBay, there was this item for sale called "Oujia Board Soup" which consisted of a small white soupbowl which apparently had powers of divination. If you poured alphabet soup in it, it supposedly would spell out predicitons - for instance the seller claimed it predicited the outcome of the 2004 election by spelling out "BUSH." They even had a screenshot of the soupbowl saying "BUSH" in pasta letters. The buyer of the auction would get the bowl, and two cans of Campbell's Alphabet Soup. The greastest part is somebody bought if for THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. I wish I had so much money I could buy obviously fake crap.

I'm selling my entire WWE VHS/DVD collection on E-Bay, along with an autographed Rey Mysterio duffel bag. That's 57 VHS tapes and 105 DVDs, for those of you that are wondering. Crazy, no? How much do you think I'll make?

The best I remember was back in '01 before the Xbox had come out. A guy who worked in a game shop was selling an Xbox box - that is, the promotional display box that was put up in stores. Not reading the title, people bidded on it thinking they were getting an Xbox almost a full month before it actually came out. I think bidding reached almost $1000.

I really wish I was creative enough to make up fake things to sell on eBay and get rich.
Grab the opportunities life hands you, that's my motto!
