Default My ratings on the FF games [for the heck of it]

because in some of the posts I have made I like to make an indicator of how I rate each FF game in each retrospect.
and I will only rate the ones I have played [rather it be emulator or console]
I will devide this into several catagories judgeing each game on its factor:

    Storyline:
    VI
    VII
    IX
    X
    IV
    V
    I
    II
    III
    VIII

    Characters:
#1 is Devided between VI and VII

    IV
    VIII

    I
    III

    More thoughts:
Final Fantasy I: I used to have FFI on my ol NES and I have recently played the re make of it on my GBA emulator.
FFI is olschool but without it you would not have its latter [and more well known] counterparts.

Final Fantasy II: its star wars in RPG form, its not my favorite

Final Fantasy III: some ways better then II, but other ways worse.

Final fantasy II/ IV: I thought was pretty good, though it was weak at some points I liked it.

Final fantasy V: it did not have best in storyline but it was sure fun.

Final fantasy III/ VI: arguably the BEST final fantasy, and it is definately my fave.

Final fantasy VII: My second fave in the series by far, to me its a classic by now.

Final fantasy VIII: not so good in most spots, not the best storyline but it has some good graphics and gameplay... though it still falls short.
I hate it the most out of the FF's

IX: I love it, nuff said

Final Fantasy X: a very good game, the dubbing is a little bad in the english version but its still good, the only bad point about this game is Blitzball... I hate it.

and who can forget the greatest Final fantasy ever:
    Final Fantasy: Mystic quest

okay I was being sarcastic, MQ actually should have been a stand alone game rather then posted a part of the FF series...

Your opinions are basically the same as mine. And this is rare. XD

    IX
    VIII
    VII/Tactics/Tactics Advance
    VI
    V
    IV
    III
    II
    I

    Duh. XD

    Music:
IX (Come on. That music the game plays when Zidane is in Pandemonium and the others try to save him... pricesless.)
VIII (Thank Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec and Eyes on Me, VIII XD)
    VII
    X
    VI
    IV
    V
    III
    I
    II
    Tactics Advance

    Gameplay:
    VII (Materia = INSTANT WIN)
IX (Yes I like Teance! Is it forbidden? XD)
    Tactics (*-*)
    X
    IV
    VI
VIII (Junction System. I still hate you.)
    I
III and V (Job System, I love you... in a tactics game, okay?)
II (I hate the magic system in this game. PLAIN AND SIMPLE)
Tactcis Advance (Trash. Game refuse. u.u Anyway. Why play it if you have Tactics and another greater RPGs in GBA, like Fire Emblem?)

    Thpughts:

FFI: I really like it. It is oldschool, the characters aren't annoying.
FFII: Bad gameplay. Bad plot. Bad characters. Etc,
FFIII: FFI + Job System prototype= FFIII.
FFIV: I love it. It has great characters and a good plot, and its cheesyness makes me drool as well xD
FFV: A better villain. WE ONLY NEED A BETTER VILLAIN. T_T
FFVI: NEed I really to comment? This game is perfect! ALong with FFVII!
FFVII: Omg. Perfection after perfection. Square is so kind with us...
FFVIII: ...well, not really. This sub-par thingy after two perfections? >.< It has SEVERAL bad points, but the worst is Squall Lionheart u_u
FFIX: Square made its apologies about FFVIII and give us its third perfection. BEcause FFIX is awesome. Totally awesome. I mean, now that I love CHocobo Hot and Cold, here is nothing I hate in this game at all.
FFX: Yeah... Well... Umh... o.o A lot of good points, but a lot of the bad ones, as well. Still betten than II and VIII.
Tactics: This game charmed me. Everything in this game charmed me. Especially the plot. I've never seen a plot grow on me SO MUCH. Not even VII and IX did it to me.
    Tactics Advance:
    Ice Cream = great
    Fruit Juice = Great
Ice Cream + Fruit Juice = Disgusting.
    FFIX = Great
    Tactics = Great
FFIx + Tactics = Tactics Advance. Yeah... disgusting. u_u

    Storyline:

    FF VI
    FF IV
    FF X/X-2
    FF IX
    FF VII
    FF V
    FF II
    FF VIII
    FF I

    Characters:

    FF IX
    FF VI
    FF IV
    FF X/X-2
    FF VII
    FF V
    FF VIII
    FF II
FF I (Characters had no brains basically--they were just puppets )

    Graphics:
    FF X/X2
    FF IX
    FF VIII
    FF VI
    FF VII
    FF V
    FF IV
    FF III
    FF II
    FF I

    Obvious for me as well.

    Music:

    FF X/X-2
    FF XI
    FF IX
    FF VIII
    FF I&II (the remakes)
    FF VII
    FF VI
    FF IV
    FF V
FF III (heard it on FF Radio, it's not bad)
    FF I&II (the originals)

    Gameplay:

FF X (loved the grid system)
    FF X-2 (loved the speed)
    FF IX
    FF VI
    FF IV
    FF VII
    FF VIII
    FF II
    FF I
FF V (job leveling was exhausting)

    Thoughts:

FF I: It was a lot of fun. You played the characters and got to give them your own names.
FF II: It had its downs, but it wasn't bad for a first-attemped plot. I really enjoyed it.
    FF III: Never played it.
FF IV: One of my favorites. The colors and the storyline are unforgettable.
FF V: This was my hardest Final Fantasy. The enemies were hard and leveling the jobs was so exhausting...
FF VI: Very awesome game. Great characters, great plot--this game was very impressive!
FF VII: Good storyline, unforgettable characters. This is a favorite of mine too, but it can be overhyped.
FF VIII: It was okay, but it wasn't my favorite. Most of the characters were boring. It focused way too much on Squall and Rinoa, and the game was all about saving Rinoa's butt.
FF IX: Another favorite of mine. These characters were just a lot of fun. Even those who didn't get to develope much were enjoyable. The music, the graphics, the game play... I love this game.
FF X: IMO, it's one of the best. I love Tidus (though Yuna was a little too passive). I loved the grid system, too. Plus, the graphics are just breath-taking.
FF X-2: A band of heroines at last! Yuna was A LOT better in this game, and Paine was awesome too. Rikku became a big whiny baby, but all is still good. I loved the graphics and the game play as well.
FF XI: It's nice to play a role as yourself in an RPG. ^^

FFI: 9/10 - there were a few things that had already been done in prior RPGs that weren't in this one, and I feel that it suffered a bit for it, but not much.
FFII: 9/10 - I'll admit, they probably could have made stat raising less severe but I still love the concept enough in practice to enjoy the game.
FFIII: I haven't touched the game in years, so I can't give it a fair review.
FFIV: 8/10 - it felt very much like a combination of its predecessors, to the point where it didn't seem that the game had anything unique to offer. It didn't have any real shortcomings, it just didn't bedazzle me in the gameplay department.
FFV: Again, it's been way too long
FFVI: 10/10 - even with massively buggy programming every last aspect of this game STILL blows me away
FFVII: 7/10 - the materia system was a nice, unique concept, that's about all the game has going for it. It's enjoyable, and hey, it has Heidegger, which is at least worth 1 point, but I just can't get THAT into it.
FFVIII: 9/10 - Junctioning r0x0rs my b0x0rs, too bad that stupid plot keeps getting in the way.
FFIX: 6/10 - no, the characters, dialogue, and overall design don't bother me, it's just the gameplay. It's trying too hard to merge oldschool (particularly FFIV) with the new school (especially FFVII) and it just winds up not doing a very good job of being much like either.
FFX: 8/10 - a lot of the innovations are ridiculously fun, but it can also get ridiculously un-fun ridiculously quickly. Plus, the hackneyed voice acting and lines don't help one bit.
    FFX-2: never played it
FFXI: 8/10 - I really like this game a lot, but it's far too easy to hit a wall and not be able to do anything. It also takes WAY too long to go anywhere.
FFMQ: 10/10 Oh I love it. It's short but sweet. In my mind, a lot of modern RPGs could learn a lot from it.
FFT: ? - it's been a while, but from what I remember, it's fun albeit quite daunting.
FFTA: 8/10 - It's simplified all to hell, but the race/class system is definitely fun, as is causing havoc with all your newfound abilities. I also happen to like the law system, it adds some variance between fights.
FFCC: 6.5/10 - Many aspects of the game get tiring very quickly, even if it triggers that same feeling of "OMFG MUST MAX OUT CHARACTERS AND GET ALL EQUIPS!!!!!" that every FF gives me. The graphics are just stunning though and the music is perfect. I don't give it much for its connectivity features, the multiplayer game is kind of clumsy and awkward. Playing solo is just fine though. Oh, and having a moogle follow you constantly is wonderful.

    Okay here is my review:

    Final Fantasy I
    Rate: 2½ stars.
Great for it's time, but nothing more.
The story is very simple and the characters are basically only used as -
props to the story; Nostalgic, no doubt, nothing more though.

    Final Fantasy II
    Rate: 3 stars.
A significant improvement over the original game.
Final Fantasy II is the first Final Fantasy to actually something -
that resembles a plot. The characters are more envovled and the
game also features a very unique gameplay as well.

    Final Fantasy III
    Rate: N/A
I have not played enough of this game to pass judgement on it.

    Final Fantasy IV
    Rate: 3 stars.
I must admit, Final Fantasy IV a disappointment to me.
I didn't like the characters and the story wasn't that great in my -
opinion. The gameplay is dull and the score is Uematsu's weakest.
All my opinion, though. If you like it, cool with me, but not for me.

    Final Fantasy V
    Rate: 4 stars.
One of the best Final Fantasy game to date; gameplay is legendary -
and the story is very underrated in my opinion.
The game is very original and has many original ideas tacked on to it,
in my humble opinion surpasses every game before it.

    Final Fantasy VI
    Rate: 4 stars.
Not that much better than Final Fantasy V, but still better.
The story was and still is very worked through, the details are very -
thorough and the characters actually managed to affect me to an
extend. Definitely better than Final Fantasy V, but not by much.

    Final Fantasy VII
    Rate: 5 stars.
The best Final Fantasy to date, that's my opinion anyways.
The story is perhaps the best in any video game every made, the -
characters are very interesting and the "thrill gauge" is very high.
Lots of plot twists and unexpected turns, the best Final Fantasy game
to date. A bit overrated though. I love it anyway.

    Final Fantasy VIII
    Rate: 4 stars.
Used to be my personal favorite, but I come to realized that it's -
actually not all that great. The story lacks, and the character
development is almost only focused on Squall, Laguna and Rinoa.
The graphics however are the finest of any Final Fantasy game to date.
Eyes on Me is by far the best vocal piece in Final Fantasy history. Definitely not a bad game, not at all.

    Final Fantasy IX
    Rate: 4½ stars.
Definitely an improvement over Final Fantasy VIII.
The game is lush, magnificent and battles Final Fantasy VII for my favorite Final Fantasy game.
The look is cute, the characters are very interesting (especially the food androgynous creature Quina).
The music is sweet, thrilling and everything else in between. Definitely what I'd consider a classic.

    Final Fantasy Tactics
    Rate: 4 stars.
What a great game, huh? The story matches Final Fantasy VII's and -
the gameplay is truly unique. My one complaint however is the charac-
ters, little is told about them. The music however is marvelous and the
look as a whole is outstanding. Definitely worth a playthrough.

    Final Fantasy Tactics Advanche
    Rate: 3 stars.
A bit of a disappoint to me. I was really hyped when this game was
first announched but quickly came to realize how bad it really is.
The story is SO dull and the characters are weak, the gamplay has
been done to death. The music is only thing this game going for it.

    Overall look:

    Final Fantasy I
    Final Fantasy II
    Final Fantasy III N/A
    Final Fantasy IV
    Final Fantasy V
    Final Fantasy VI
    Final Fantasy VII
    Final Fantasy VIII
    Final Fantasy IX
    Final Fantasy Tactics
    Final Fantasy Tactics Advanche

I have not played anymore Final Fantasy games -
(except for Crystal Chronicles, but that's not really a Final Fantasy game is it?).
