If somebody makes good grades and such through school, there are plenty of scholarships and such that will help those people out. Good for you, you're going to a college. My parents aren't paying a damn thing towards my college either, so I have to pay for it all myself. But there's a difference in joining the military and getting deployed for a year, then coming back with enough money to start college, and deciding that you should have your college pay for and give no more back to the government. I'm giving them six (or more) years of my life, they're giving me an education, and we're both happy. I'm not a leech, I'm not sucking the government's (taxpayers') teat so I can get what I think I deserve. As I have said many times before, I don't have any problem with helping to support people who honestly can't make enough money to support their family. It's the people who choose not to work hard enough that I get pissed that I have to pay for.

However, also keep in mind, there's a difference between collecting welfare and collecting unemployment.
so when i was 5 it was my responsiblitly to get a job and go out and work?

sas i hope you do know getting a job is a blessing my dad was unemplyed ast year and it took him forever to get a job and he's skilled in his field with a PHD.HE finally found one but it took him months and if his wife hadn't have a job then he would have never been able to support himself
(unemployement is 300 bucks thats just for gas money and lunch money while you look for a job.)
its tough to get a job in okc to tell you the truth its tough to get a job anwhere now.but some people do work multiple jobs and stilll can't support themselves.I understand your thing of dependence but then oy have to add in factors like relatives inherenting debt.Inherent they didn't put themselves to debt there dead beat mnother or father died with debt and passed it on to you!!! that crap is tough man life is tough but that welfare jsut helps really a little bit.No one can live off of welfare alone that what makes that program so good. They get people to try and get out of poverty. Then theres the military.
