An all-terrain, totally diverse MG-style weapon would be pretty pointless if it was limited to a crawlingly slow speed. Something like that has got to be manoueverable in order to fight, I believe.
I guess that balance would be a key issue in the creation of a machine like this. It's got to be able to adjust its centre of gravity, just like a person does subconsciously, in order to take proper steps without nearly falling over all the time. This'd be especially important for non-flat terrain.
