I've heard about that. Apparantly it would probably fall over if you tried to get of the kurb of a street and it does more of a sliding/crawling motion than a walking motion. Imagine an ice skater in really slow motion and you'll get an idea.

This is accurate, I watched the videos on the site, looks incredibly clunky and unstable. The legs don't lift when it walks the feet just slide across the floor in a sort of walking/sliding motion.

It looks incredibly lame in the videos but hey, give the guy some credit, he built the thing from scratch by himself.

That's still really slow, but fast enough that it can actually go places reasonably fast.

Some tanks can exceed 100. Vehicles like that need to at least be reasonably mobile, to help prevent them being out-manouevered. Something as slow as this mech would just be pointless, militaristically speaking

Sure, but it'd still be very vulnerable to strikes from the land or air. It's not very big, so there's not a lot of room for armour.

The fastest humans can reach 42... but people aren't military machines. You never get into a dogfight where one tank is duelling with one enemy soldier, except in video games. Armed vehicles have got to be able to move; soldiers on foot have other uses.
