What is it with with final fantasy and the name Cid?

is it me or does the name cid seem to be in alot of the games?

ya as far as i know the name cid is in ff3, 4, 7 and 8 if any one eles knows where the name is say so

yeah I think that name is in all of the Final Fantasy games, but I dont know why!!

9 (regent cid) and 10 (rikku's dad), i haven't played 5 for a long time... infact, i barely played it past the first hour, so i dunno, and 6... i just haven't played that in a long time.

FFT and FFTA as well. I think he might also be in FF1, but can't remember. I know he's in FF1 and 2 Dawn of Souls.

I think he's in all of them.

It's in FF6 and I'm almost sure in 5 aswell.

it's part of the FF legacy! All FF's have a Cid, a Biggs, a Wedge, and chocobos, and moogles. I don't know where Cid came from, but I heard somewhere that Biggs and Wedge are from Star Wars O.o

Yep. Both Biggs and Wedge are members of the Rebel Alliance.

biggs and wedge are in all of them? i hmm... i remember 7 and 8 but i don't remember them from the others. it was biggs and someone else in some other game... but not wedge.

FFX and X-2, they were Blitzball players.

FFTA, Biggs was in it, but not Wedge. Not sure about most of the early ones though.

I read an article from GamePro Magazine that the existence of a Cid in ever FF game (even FF: Spirits Within has a guy named Sid) is to indirectly link all the FF games together.

Cid:

ff1-- added in DOS as a back-reference.
ff2-- owner of an airship in either Palm or Poft.
ff3-- I have no clue :}
ff4-- Another airship dude, and he's got really freaky looking goggles on.
ff5-- an inventor, he has a grandson named Mid
ff6-- A father-figure to Celes. I think he was a scientist under Kefka?
ff7-- PC
ff8-- Founder of the Garden in Balamb
ff9-- King of Lindblum
ff10/10-2-- Rikku's father
FFTA-- the leader of teh Judges

Biggs/Vicks and Wedge:
ff6-- Soldiers fighting with Terra
ff7-- heck if I know
ff8-- Galbadian soldiers

Chocobos go back to ff2. There is one in the entire world, and dang but it is useful.
