FF7 and MK annihilation refference.(spoilers)

Ive noticed a huge similarity between tifas role in FF7 and sonyas role in mortal kombat2. lets start with tifa. sephiroth kills her father and then almost kills her when she trys to get revenge.

sonya almost gets killed by shao kahn hten johny comes to rescue her but gets killed and then she says she'll get even with kahn but doesnt because lui kang kills him

there is a huge similarity. and also they both dont use weapons and fight with like kung-fu and stuff. has anyone else noticed this

I really don’t see how that could be anything other than a coincidence. Mortal Kombat Annihilations is truly the worst movie ever made. It’s sacrilege to think that anything in a FF game would be based off it.

i know its a coincidence but its worth pointing it out and MK annihilation may not be the best movies ever , ive seen worse.

I fail to see how this is a reference. Things like this are used all the time. In Street Fighter, Chun Li's father was killed by M. Bison, yet Guile defeats him instead of her.

I can't decide which was a worse movie, MK Annihilation, Resident Evil: Apocalypse, Alone in the Dark, or House of the Dead. Street Fighter wasn't QUITE as bad, but the fact that it was Raul Julia's swan song is a great tragedy. -.-
