Thread: Why is FFVII just so awesome?

Default Why is FFVII just so awesome?

    Just looking for opinions...

Well, I idolize the game for First of all, DEPTH!! there is actually a plot! And also, the music is just so beautiful. Sqauresoft Started off Playstatkilon with a bang, definately. Replay value and value of optional sidequests are also a plus. Just curious, did anybody else find the Cactuar Island?
Of all the games that i find well worth the work, I can only say that three can properly qualify for the category. And of the three, one is, but of corse, FFVII. The other twon games which i couldn't depart from are Xenogears and FFT. And i also found a pattern, All of which were released 1997 or 1998 and were on PS. I have lost some faith in Squaresoft when they merged with Enix, they no longer adapt a well-thought plot as nearly as much as the older titles. And thus, I say to you Square-Enix, "Up yours!"

found cactuar island of course, it's just south of Gold Saucer if i remember correctly...
yes, this game is a legend, it scored a 10/10 on the official PS mag in Europe, it was Game of the Year for three years running, it was the fastest game on platinum (2.5 months) and it gained Square at least $3.5 billion..

yes this game was good, in fact it should be placed in the Hall of Fame for Games....

heh, the plot was so complex it took me 4 yrs to fgure out how many plots there were in just the one game . I don't think any other FF comes close to FFVII's league...

My favorite thing about the game is that the plot expands so much from being about some guy who is bombing reactors to getting drawn into saving the planet. It's Huge.

The longest I've played it was 8 hours, but I would have stayed on longer if we weren't leaving for vacation that night.

Playing it for a week straight is a waste to me. If you complete everything in the game too soon, the sooner you have to go out and buy a game that isn't as good.

That's another thing--Replay value! I had to have gone through the game at least 5 times, and I'm just getting started. I'm not made of money, so I always try to squeeze the most time out of a game as possible. FFVII did the job.
I posted my previous reply because if I play so much and beat it 5 times in less than a month, I'll have to lose more money to buy another game. That's why I would never play for a week solid. It's all about the money.

Well, by that time, i might've beat the game twice, plus i was only 9 years old, so i was like on ecstacy every time i turned the frickin PS on, so i didnt really care i saw the exact same scene like 20 times, but that was just me...

You are Bahamut! You are King of the Dragons, and
rightfully so, for few can stand up to your
Mega Flare. Everything about you simply
    screams "bad ass."

No offense, but can we have an actual discussion? That was way too much FF7 "small talk" in my humble opinion. I love the game, but I can see why people tend to go insane when it gets praised. FF7 has a slightly unfair advantage. Like you two I played it throughout one summer. 2 or 3 hour sessions during the night. I'd take a break and go outside and stare at the stars. The two together gave me this awesome feeling I can't even describe. The atmosphere in VII was overwhelming to me. I just loved it and can hardly explain why. But I've always been fond of post-apocalyptic type scenery for some reason. There was a lot of charm and love and emotion in that game. And it truely captured my heart for some reason..
