Maybe so, but I enjoyed the plot, and characters of the first Suikoden more so than the second. And, I liked the style of the "Major Battles" in Suikoden I more so than any other out there. When I played II, III, and IV, those battles lost the feeling that they were major armies clashing, instead of just pieces. But they're all minor things that I like better -- I'm not saying II is a bad game, not by any means; it's one of my favorite RPGs of all time. It's just personal preference, after all.
