All right, I need to rant. I was wandering around sandorian territory on my way to Valcrum dunes and someone asked me to join a party. Im a level 14 male Whm and there were already five in the party. I joined anyway. Now Im not familiar with Valcrum and I was alone and out levelled there. So I spent a while trying to find this party who neglected to tell me I needed to take this tunnel to get to there point on the map "Would you hurry up already, Do I have to waste my weekend like this?". So eventually I arrive I notice that Im the only Whm and Im a hume so my Mp isnt astounding or anything. There was no high level white mage to help with power levelling. Theyre all similar levels to me and some are higher and after every second battle I needed to wait to get my MP back up. most of them didnt say anything but there was the occasional, "again? oh for gods sake". So occasionally while we're waiting around for a monster I say "Did anyone see the new Advent Children trailer?" and theres just no response from the party who were all online. So I talk a bit more with no response. They werent foreign or anything. Wow, do most people play the game with a stick up there ass? Did I do something wrong here? Has something like this ever happen to you?

I haven't, but then again, I haven't partied yet except for the 'Gustaberg Tour' quest, which really just involved moving everybody to the lower part of N. Gustaberg, so no fighting at all. But I can imagine this kind of thing happening - it's why I plan on soloing most of the game (besides when my close friends, people from my LS, or people from here want to party with me).

'Course, I've got to party for the next little while - I've gotta boost my WHM to 18 so I can get my subjob - solo leveling anything past 10 without a sub would almost certainly be a royal pain in the arse.

Anyway, I hope I don't encounter that - at the moment, I'm a hume WHM too. Although some MP boosting equipment would probably help, I've got some - if you're on Midgardsormr, I can send you a copper hairpin which should help.

no this has never happened to me but if i was the only whm in the party and they said that stuff to me id leave staight away saying: ok since your being like this am leaveing the party. Note. you are the whm, and as a result EVERYONE should be very greatful to you also whm is the MOST in demand job in the whole game if you left the party and shouted: <job> looking for good party please invite to join. i can almost garuntee that you will get a party in minutes and then shout: insert name here's party is full of assholes and if your a whm id recomend you NOT joining there party as they are rude SOB's that dont know how to treat there healer well. they will soon lean the eror of there ways.

At lvl.14 non taru and with a full party to heal along with monsters outclassing me by far a little support would have been appreaciated.

I'm a hume white mage, and with good equipment and some pies your MP pool should be enough to last you through the battle. If you want to reduce your rest time, take a couple Pineapple juice with you when you party.

And if your party is pulling mobs that are too tough to handle, tell them to knock it off or you'll disband. KaiserDragon is right, it wouldn't be too hard for you as a whm to disband and find a better party.

White Mages are not the most in-demand, its up there but RDMs and BRDs along with tanks are there too.

The point is that you found a crappy party, best to disband and find another. There are always some asshats in every game, dont let those ruin your enjoyment of the game.

EoFF players center are midgard with pandemonium following up, i think alexander is a huge distant third with bleys in it though.

On another note PLD/WAR with a NIN is just a waste...and a DRK/BLM? Wth can that do?

Its all right it will happen, and if it does, leave, disband without warning. If they don't apppreicate a whitemage then they're idiots. Now Im a nice guy and all, but I mostly play as a melee....and those who have no respect for a mage deserves no respect themselves...I dont care how high they are or what rank they are or how much gil they have...

But yes this has happened to me. And trust me you will find better parties somewhere other than valkrum dunes.

IF iw as the leader of that PT we would be chaining Toughs in konschat.lol

The thing is there are worst things I rememebr being a WAR.Man sometimes i'll get into a PT were they'll neglect me and then over extend my job.They make me pull and tank.Then the mages won't bother to cure me.I'll end up dying and losing EXP then the PT leader will say i suck and kick me.Yeah we all go through bad PTs.Not a big deal.ITs mainly PT leaders who are over zealious or too strict.
When people sya JP PTs are nice its only because they are serious in it.Its nice but if oyu join a static or form one.OR somehow get the right party combo.It can be like that in a non JP party.Easy EXP either way.

But enough of that.All jobs have a great purpose in a PT even a BST from time to time.To undermine that person's integrity and his job and then not help him or her out on were to find you guys then thats a PT you shouldn't be in.Thats a PT leader you shouldn't associate with.I tok my horrible experiences and learned form them.But yeah it pisses me off when it happens.

Ugh... Vaprice is absolutely right. If they're making rude comments to you, just leave immediately. As a WHM you'll be in HIGH demand. WARs are a dime a dozen, but a free WHM in Valkurm is like finding a $50 in the middle of the road. If you disband you'll probably get an invite from another party within like 10 seconds.

I also play as a melee class, and I always try to show my appreciation to the mages. I do it for the mages
