I wait for people to IM me, unless I IM them which they should take as a token of my love for them, or in some people's case, my deep loathing ^_^ But I only IM a few select people first, usually

Joy is instant messaging me right now, and I have to say it is indeed rather torturous.
I PM people that I know a lot.
I don't contact random people, though, I will talk to them if they contact me. I'm always up for "conversation"

50/50 I guess. Sometimes I initiate, and sometimes I wait for the people on my list to IM me. I very rarely IM people I don't know. But I use IM more than my phone to chat with friends, so yeah, I use AIM almost every single day. I think only 2 people from EoFF know my screenname.

I really only IM people from here or family. Unless it's someone I know will like me, like Psy or Resha. I let others IM me first cause I am shy.

I don't IM people I don't know, but I will IM people I do know on occassion if I feel the need to talk to them or am bored. Otherwise they need to IM me if they wish to talk.

I don't use IM programs any more, becase I don't have much time.
