For me, this is the end of a long dream. It feels so strange having this break out while I am so secluded away from society right now. It almost feels anticlimactic, but almost all endings in real life are.
Nice thing to know, it was, after all, a rather large mystery. I wonder how this revelation will effect the public.
Probably not by much. The only really remarkable thing about this was that he managed to keep his identity secret for so long. Now his identity is know, he's just another guy who leaked damaging information about the government to the press. Which, let's face it, isn't all that uncommon.
I saw this on the news today. I thought it was cool. Almost as cool as it would be for the guys who escaped Alcatraz to be like "Hey." That would be so cool.

Apparently, his family convinced him to reveal the information before he died, as Woodward and Bernstein had promised to reveal his identity only after his death. This is absolutely fascinating, though.

not to go off topic, (which i kinda am) but im going to assume alkatraz is a prison, but why would it be cool to escape it? is it like, ultra-maximum security?
