Most rap's tight, but as far as I'm concerned, Eminem's a joke. He cheesed off everybody he came in contact with, except for Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, and D12.
When I heard the song, "Cleaning Out My Closet," that was the one thing he did that pissed me off more than anything else he did. Yeah, I've made cracks about his mother just for fun, but what he had to say to her was pure hate and inexcusable. He's the real insult to rap.
Is rap crap? It's just as crap or brilliant as one thinks it is. It's probably one of my least favourite genres, but I respect that there are people out there that like that sort of thing. So who am I to put it down? One can come up with a whole list of reasons of why any genre is "crap". Though at the end of the day, rap must have something going for it, otherwise, why would it have so many fans?
Just because you don't like something, doesn't mean it's crap. It just means that you think it's crap. Nothing more, nothing less. If you've found something that you enjoy listening to, and it just so happens to be rap, then good for you!

I prefer to go by artist than genre, it's much easier to just like or dislike certain artists or groups than blanket a whole genre.
Why must it always be a comparison between rap and rock anyway? Are the two genres that opposing?

i honestly dislike rap but i dont have problem with people who like it as long as they dont go talking bout my favo genres (punk/rock/goth)

liek what happend to me a while ago
i was talking to someone from my class he said the offspring sucked big time. I asked him wich songs he actually heard. the only song he ever completely listend to was "pretty fly". I told him, that song i way to comercial to be anything from what they normally make. the problem is that they wont listen to it (the really good song)
but the media is also to blame for this caus they actually control whats "in" because lots of the most famous punk bands have made a new album lately but mtv and all those TV senders just dont send play em they only play rap hiphop and rmb and sometimes hardcore so no wonder punk bands need to make comercial <img src="/xxx.gif"><img src="/xxx.gif"><img src="/xxx.gif"><img src="/xxx.gif"> that sound slike crap comparing to what they normally make caus else no one but the fans will hear it.
