Yeah. Type A Black Mages have 9 physical defense? Let's say Quina's Fork had 23 attack power.

Base = 23 - 9 = 14

Now let's say she's at level 10 with 18 Strength.

Bonus = 1 ...18 + [(10 + 18) / 8] - 1 = 1 ...20, so any number from 1 to 20

14 * 1 ...20 = 14 ...280, meaning Quina would do anywhere from 14 to 280 damage from the front row, or 14 to 140 damage from the back row.
