    Default [A] Vector Art

I've been a huge fan of vector art for years. But I hardly have the patience to actually create a vector image of my own. So here's my first and only completed piece of vector art.

    God I hate vectors.

You can tell I got lazy around the bangs and the nose, but my hand started twitching after using the pen tool for so long and so I took a few shortcuts.

Adobe Photoshop, 65 layers/paths, 3 hours. Reference image.

I've been using Photoshop for bitmap graphics for about 5 years, but am a complete noob when it comes to vectors. I keep telling myself I will sit down and learn Illustrator but I never do.

    Nice work.

I've tried working with vectors in Illustrator, but I actually like Photoshop better. Just preference I guess.

    *flocks to thread*

    I love vector art!

Although I do mine in Illustrator. I really like what you did with the background, I always lack ideas when trying to spruce up my vectors...it's very good. I know what you mean about needing patience though, I rarely have enough to do these anymore xD

    70 layers, 2 hours, photoshop.

This one went by a lot quicker. I'm getting the hang of this.

Those are great! I've had experience with vector art and I know that it's difficult.

The first one is too jaggedy. You should use the pen tool for all of it for smoother edges instead of shortcuts.

But the second Lulu one is lovely. You got all the shades of light and dark in. Great job. ;D

Lulu has a lantern hanging off her head? I never noticed that.
