Sorry, I just need to be anal for a second. water is actually slightly blue as it absorbs all the other wavelengths of light, but not the blue end of the spectrum. If you get a long container of pure water in a perfectly clear container, it will look blue. There we go. I feel much better now.

Well, that's a good point. I was saying that in reference to the common belief that the sky is blue because of the light reflecting off the oceans.
