    Default Spanish Question!

I've taken spanish 1 and know that the color orange is anaranjado, but I was trying to sleep, and I layed awake for hours pondering if the spanish word for orange (the fruit) is the same word for orange (the color). Can someone tell me if this is so, if not what is the word for the fruit?

When does the male version of the word orange take precedence over the female version of the word orange?
