Another way is to post lots, and by posting, I don't mean spamming. There are several threads where you can get away with spam, but when all you post is spam, you will likely get caught and be warned by the staff, and when that happens to you, your chances of staying is decreased.

I'm still a known name to some around here, and back about two years ago I was here quite a bit each day. I was known by just posting and expressing myself throughout the forums, and I think it got me a fair deal of attention at the time.
