Thread: Tifa Getting Killed?

    Default Tifa Getting Killed?

Okay, if there is already a thread like this, you can delete or lock it. But I saw this rumor in some sites... is it true that Tifa can get killed instead of Aeris? If you are MEAN to Tifa, she'll jump over in front of Aeris and she'll get stabbed instead of Sephiroth.

    I wonder if it's true?

This is what's called a "blatant falsehood". No, this CAN NOT HAPPEN. Aeris dies, there's NO getting around it. There is NO alternative. It's part of the storyline. You can NOT change this. If anyone insists otherwise they're either lying or naive.

Really? Well, that's good then... Tifa's my favorite character, I don't want her to get killed.... but then, it was just a rumor. Not all rumors are true, though... lol

the reason for this being a major part in the story, if you notice, the "Holy" materia only appears to have been glowing after Aeris died, so it must have needed her "spirit energy" to activate, as Sephiroth needed a huge amount of it to use Meteor

Like any other Materia (except the Black Materia), Holy only required that someone be connected to the Planet:

    Sephiroth
"...the knowledge and wisdom of the Ancients is held in the
    materia."
"Anyone with this knowledge can freely use the powers of the Land and the Planet. That knowledge interacts between ourselves and the planet calling up magic..... or so they say."
    Cloud
"Search for Holy... How do we do it?"

    Bugenhagen
    "Speak to the planet."
"Get the White Materia... This will bond the Planet to humans."

    Bugenhagen
    "Then speak to the planet."
"If our wish reaches the planet, the White Materia will begin to
    glow a pale green."
It didn't require anyone to die.

so, you mean, if it doesn't require anyone to die, there is a possibilty Tifa can get killed? The site said that there will be twists at whatever options you choose and whether you are mean or nice to the person.

the Golden Saucer Date and I think the Highwind scene near the end are the only things that being mean or nice changes. And believe me, I have been mean to Tifa before (I want to get Aeris at least once on the date),and Tifa DOES NOT DIE!!! Aeris dies, no matter what happens. The story would be completely different if it were the other way around. Whoever wrote this rumor of yours was just trying to fool people.

Ohhh..I see then. Thanks TurkSlayer. I was asking about your opinion about it, and wondering if it's true. I just found it in some sites, so yeah. I understand now, thanks.

Just to elaborate further, being horrendously cold to Tifa only changes the Cloud-Tifa Highwind scene near the end of the game, while it can have a potential effect on the Gold Saucer date.

Anyway, aside from the fact that Aerith and Tifa's roles being reversed would change the second half of the entire game, if it were possible, a GameShark or game code-hacking device would have found it by now.

Not to mention the fact that ever since games have been put on optical discs (CDs, GDs, and DVDs) it's been QUITE possible to simply view the contents. Every last picture, song, 3D model and FMV in FFVII has been discovered. There is NO undiscovered secret. It's just like the beatles said... there's nothing you can know that isn't known, nothing you can see that isn't shown. Aeris dies. It's not an opinion, it's a fact. With the exception of not playing the game, it simply is going to happen no matter what.

You could just switch their names around in the beginning and pretend.
