A lot of people have seemed to have problems with Holmes, but I thought she fit in perfectly. Usually I see love stories in movies as useless padding, but I thought this one was fine.

(SPOILER)I thought the Scarecrow guy was great just because of the huge difference between him without the mask and him with it. He wasn't a guy you'd suspect of being the bad guy.

I loved Morgan Freeman's character, too. He fit in there and made it all the more believable. Was he added just for the movie, or was he ever in the comics?

Lucious Fox is most certainly a supporting character from the comics. He knows who Batman is (though doesn't talk about it) and helps him obtain his gear, and basically runs Wayne Enterprises. And yes, Freeman did a fantastic job, as usual.

honestly, that was probably the best comic book movie, in terms of how a comic book movie is made. like, if you wanted to show off a comic book movie, thats the one you would pick. my favorite comic book movie, tied with the first batman, and it was waaaay frickin better then spiderman 2 and x-2.

This is definitely the best superhero flick I've ever seen. I wouldn't even doubt its ability to become the best movie of 2005. I never thought it possible, but it's much better than Spider-Man.

To the people complaining about the Tumbler, go to the North Pole! Notice how not once did Wayne/Batman call it the Batmobile. It was just something to to get him around at the time. He was a noob at the superhero business. I guess no one else noticed the not-high-tech grappling hooks that he used or the lack of super computers in the batcave.

I definitely had doubts after seeing the 10 minute trailer that played after Smallville because Bayle looked too thick for Batman and I didn't like his Batman voice, but that all changed with the movie. There was that one part where he was holding that thug upside down and he started to yell at the thug. That scene was just slightly over the top. Other than that, he definitely played the part perfectly.

I was afraid that they'd turn the movie into some martial arts movie, like they did with Batman Forever and Returns, but thank God they didn't. Batman was brought back to his true glory: as a stealthy hero of the night who takes his enemies on through the shadows. In Batman Forever and, oh God, especially Batman and Robin, they(Batman and his posse) pretty much paraded in the streets. Also, Gordon and Batman's team-up was always low-key.

I don't see what people have against Katie Holmes. She played her part well and it's not like she got much screen time, to begin with. She was a good actor in the movie. If you hated how the character was portrayed, blame it on the writers, not the actor.

Shadowflare, where'd you get your info on the supposed upcoming Batman movie series?

really? i loved that scene. I thought that how angry he was and they way he did his voice definately put the fear of God in that man, which is pretty much your goal when your trying to interrogate someone.

I liked that scene too, and I'm not talking about the way he voiced it. There was just something weird about his lips. Bah, I'll have to watch it again to see whta the problem was.

That was the announcement from WB as soon as production started on BB. They stated that this is the resurrection of the Batman movie franchise after it died in 1997. If the box office numbers are good enough, they'll push forward with a sequel, and right now, that possibility is looking really good. I hang out at comic book and movie sites like SuperHero Hype! and RottenTomatoes, so I see these things all the time. I can get you specific reports and press releases if you want. Nolan and Goyer basically already have the plot for the next movie in mind, and they're just waiting for the green light from WB.

I thought the movie was good. I don't know if it was better than Burton's original Batman but still really good.

I wonder if Ras Al Gaul will return in the next movie in anyway. That is one of my bigger questions. I don't care that he went down in that train wreck because of who and what he is.

The only problem I had with this movie was the way the fighting was shot. It was too broken up and too fast moving which means they screwed up way too much when actually fighting for the most part.

That would have to be the best action film I have ever seen. It's going to be so hard for any other superhero type movie to compete with that. I've seen it twice at the cinemas - I watched it on Sunday and today (Monday). It was just awesome. Really awesome.

I thought Katie Homles played her part really well in the movie. I didn't see a problem with her.

The only part in the movie I thought was a bit silly was when (SPOILER)Bruce's parents got shot in the alleyway - I mean really, who would choose to exit the building through a door that just opened to a dark alley way when the family is obviously rich and carry good cash on them?.

But other than that - film was so awesome!

Superb film, everything was good, yes i was expecting it to be betetr than the other batman films but it was more than that. some very good acting in there, great action sequences (without much CG technology might i add) and come on, you want a batmobile.

I musta missed when they said that on the WB.

I liked how the fights were shot and did Batman justice. It wouldn't have worked in any other action movie, though. Why? Because that's just how Batman fights. You see a dark blur and a blurry flurry of punches before you get your bananas handed to you.

Not 'on the WB'. WB=Warner Bros. Studios. I should have been more clear. In the initial press releases announcing the movie, they made it clear that this is the beginning of a new franchise.

Christian Bale - Says that he is definitely signed to play the Dark Knight again.
    source = Dark Horizons
This means sequels. At least two more if rumors hold. Bale apparently isn't the only one signed on for more than one right now. Gary Oldman is signed, and certain others have been as well. It only follows that Caine and Holmes will soon follow. Freeman doubts they'll come back to him, but they probably will if he's needed for the plot. David Goyer is apparently signed on to do the story again.
Chris Nolan is the only question mark I suppose. Initial rumors that he already signed turned out to be false unfortunately. He enjoyed making it, and could see doing it again. If he goes for another one, we'll likely see the same cast and crew for the next two. Apparently, Nolan and Goyer have already toyed with sequel options while making Batman Begins, those involving the Joker, so they have been planning for the strong possibility of more movies. I really hope that they all do sign on again. I can't imagine another Batman without this cast and crew. They did it so well.

Definitely. The cast was impeccable. I wonder who'll dawn the Joker role, though? Jim Carrey would be pretty okay as a Joker.
