Snatch - 5/5 - I love this style of movie. There aren't many British style movies that I really enjoy, but Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels along with this one work so well. Definitely two stories of the same mould and same style. I wish there were more. From what I understand, Revolver is nothing like the other two. Maybe it's even 5/5, I can't think of anything that was really wrong with it. *edits score*

I watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire for the first time on Wednesday. It was pretty good, probably my favorite of all four movies. I'd probably give it a 4/5.

Advent Children - I loved it. Beautiful graphics, nice voice-overs and I enjoyed the story-line. It was a realistic as a look into what the future would have held for the characters of FFVII. I liked the suttle meetings of Aeris and Cloud in AC. I wish though they had expanded the story out of Midgar a bit more though. I would have liked to see a lot more of other towns/places in FFVII like a closer look at the City of the Ancients.

X-Men: The Last Stand - 4/5. There were a few things that just didn't sit well with me, but overall the movie was great. I'd probably have enjoyed it a whole lot more if I had never known of X-Men before the movies, but the knowledge I had of what was and was not accurate to their stories made it lose a point. Still a bloody good movie, though.

A History of Violence- 5/5- I love this movie. Viggo Mortenson plays an incredibly complex character, and shows he can do more than just play Aragorn. Deserves the Academy Award nominations. Go watch it.

    X-Men 3
    5/5

Saw it yesterday. It had a number of darker elements, but certainly resolved a lot by the end of the movie. It's sad that (SPOILER)so many main characters either died or lost their power.

    Anyway, good movie overall.

    Crash 4.5/5
Pretty good, but I couldn't see any reason to believe it would win a best screenplay Oscar. Ludacris looks way more like Don Cheadle's brother than the other guy

    EDIT:
    Deliverance 4.5/5
OK didn't exceed my expectations but then again my expectations were set at a pretty high standard

    X-Men: 2/5

The movie started out well but I think the direction it went in was untrue to the tone set in the previous films, and in X-Men in general.

X-Men 3 - I give the movie 2/5. If Ian McKellen hadn't been in it, probably a 1/5. I really love Ian Mckellen.

Serendipity - Pretty good chick flick. 3/5. Good but not great. I aww'd during the movie, but I have no real desire to see it again.

Paths of Glory - 3.5/5. I mean, it was a good movie, well acted and good story, but I just couldn't get into it at all, and that for me is not usual. Maybe I just watched it at a bad time.

    Capote- 4.5/5

Capote is about the last written work of Truman Capote, In Cold Blood. I highly reccommend it, as both Philip Seymour Hoffman (Truman Capote) and Clifton Collins Jr. (Perry Smith) give excellent performances. I had only two complaints - 1. The movie itself progressed rather slowly, and 2. The supporting characters weren't the greatest. Still a great movie.

Journey to the Center of the Earth ~ 4.5/5

For a film made at the end of the fifties its amazing. The dialogue and characters were all great and the special effects were cool, some great camera tricks used. The actor who played the professor came from Huddersfield, up the road which is cool!

    Daredevil: 3/5 (IMDB)
This film surprised me by being quite enjoyable. I was expecting something terrible (I mean, Ben Affleck AND Jennifer Garner? *shudders*), but the basic plot was decent and I really liked Colin Farrel's hammy performance as Bullseye. Since I'm not really a comic-book fan, I've no idea how accurate it was to the source material, which probably helped my enjoyment of the film.

    Resident Evil: 4/5 (IMDB)
On the back of Daredevil, Resident Evil is another film I found far better than I expected. I'll admit, I never liked the first RE game and have since steered clear of the rest, though apparently the story to this is original, so again, I've not been troubled by that aspect. The beginning to the film is a bit ropey, and the deaths of half of the characters were a bit too cursory for my liking, but I really liked the interplay of characters. Now I think about it, the film was probably quite bad really, but I just enjoyed it so much, so I'm not complaining XD

    Resident Evil: Apocalypse 1/5 (IMDB)
After watching the first film, I decided to download the sequel, hoping for something just as good. And this isn't even close. The only enjoyable character in teh entire film is Milla Jovovich's Alice, returning from the original, while all the new cast look woefully out of place, even the Crazy Black Man™. I'd complained about the arbitrary deaths in the first film, but at least they made you give a crap about the characters there; in this, they get no screen time to endear themselves to you, with the focus being spread way too thinly amongst them. Basically, it was all completely and utterly pointless, and a waste of two hours.
