When threads go off-topic and get spammy, why not split the off-topic crap off to a separate closed thread instead of closing the entire thread? Just a thought.

(yes, I understand that Feedback threads can eventually have served their purpose, after which point closing them seems like a valid idea; this isn't just about Feedback threads though )
