Thread: Namco X Capcom's "tenative" NA release date

Default Namco X Capcom's "tenative" NA release date

According to some info I learned, Namco X Capcom will get a release in the US sometime around September 28th. It'll pretty much be a complete port of the Jap version except the only thing to be translated is the text. It probably won't have ANY voice acting at all.

Of course I don't know how right I am at the moment, so lets just wait until the day arrives to find out.

From what I heard people who polayed the Tales games (Tales of Symphonia, Phantasia, etc) would get uses to the play style of this game as you can control them in real time during battles, you can switch control of a character by pressing a button, and you can execute special attacks with button combonations.

I heard a PAL version will follow soon after. It's looking good, I think this game will restore my faith in the PS2.

Games that haven't been out in Japan at all are on that list.

Besides, it's just been announced, like about a week or so ago. It was showed off at E3, why show off a game at a US gaming expo if you're not gonna release it in the US?

Funny that all the news sites missed that, then.

The easy answer to that is that it was not shown off at E3. The complete lists of PS2 games that were at the show from GameSpot, GameSpy, IGN show no sign of it, and even individual testimonials on fan sites say that it was nowhere to be found.

I know somebody who was AT one of the E3 expos, there was a whole booth for it.

Ive seen the Xenosaga aspects of the game. They showed Kos-Mos, Momo and Shion in Xenosaga one stylings. It looked neat and since theres no Xeno here in Europe Id consider buying it just for the sake of that.

Actually, Ryukishi's right. There is no sign of the game coming out in the US. There is a petition going around getting it to come here (if I can find the link, you guys can sign it), but I wouldn't hold my breath.

The reason WHY it may not come here is because Namco thinks most of the characters they put in are too obscure for American audiences, and in most cases, they would be right. Most of the characters on the Namco side are relatively unknown, due to the character('s) games being released only in Japan.

Some Capcom characters that have been put in, such as Strider Hien (Strider 2) or Sho (Captain Commando) may also be considered obscure, since most of their games outside of Street Fighter/Megaman have been released in limited quantities (20,000 copies or less).

Xenogears is the tragic story of how your whole life can take a crappy turn, just because you happened to see a lady in a wedding dress before her wedding.

That still doesn't mean they can't release it. Marvel Vs Capcom had tons of character nobody outside of Japan heard of.

They will release it to the US, there's just no way Namco can miss out on a cash cow like this.
