htat would be cool to but you would have none of the original characters and i would wan to see them again something like a fanfic i read on fanfiction.net its called dark esper i think thats a good story i hope its something like that just a few years after ff6

Exactly why I think the War of the Magi wouldn't be the subject of a remake/sequel; people would want to see their favorite characters.

Funny you should mention fanfiction.net. I actually wrote a War of the Magi fanfiction that I posted there. I'll have to check out Dark Esper though.

I think Square should really listen to their fans on this one. This is one of the classic games, even more so than FFVII (well, not for everyone), and it should be done with great care if at all. Seeing the way they are going nowadays with the FF-series, I'm really scared to find out where this will lead...

A remake wouldn't be as bad as a half-assed sequel or prequel for that matter. At least the plot would stay the same, and it would still be the same wonderful places, characters with a better view. I'd like to see how much detail they could make into Gogo's outfit, and how they would put the other characters together, aswell.

Well, if your a big Gogo fan, they may be able to pull off having him/her/it in the game, but that that would pretty crush every theory ever made on Gogo.

I think that only the Espers and some monsters could justifibly be included in a story set 1000 years in the past. Which is fine with me; I always thought there should be a game with the summons as the main characters.

Hmm, I always thought that FF6 had a very definate ending, so I would say that a remake would be more plausable.

Hey, I'd buy it. Doesn't matter that I already have the PS version, I'd buy the game all over again---if it ends up being a remake.

Actually, I'll probably buy it no matter what it is, as long as it's remotely FF6-oriented.

Based on the writing in the clip I would say it's pretty obvious that if they make anything it won't be a remake. As far as what they do make, all we can do is hope that it's good. If not... my opinion on FFVI isn't going to change. I'll just be dissapointed that the chance for something great fell through.
